Along with the classic single cask collection, the range includes the Director's Special series personally selected by Sukhinder Singh, as well as two small-batch collections: the accessible Reserve Casks and the more mature Marriage of Casks.
A small batch of two ex-bourbon and one ex-sherry hogsheads from a Lowland distillery was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2007 and aged for more than 13 years.
Nose - Initially sharp, with notes of grapefruit pith, softening out with a drop of water into aromas of juicy raisins and grape bubble gum. A slightly fresh and flinty quality, reminiscent of river rock pools, appears to add a characterful edge.
Palate - A glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice initially, followed by flaky, buttery short crust pastry. This proceeds into intense, rich burnt caramel notes - like that of a treacle cake left a little too long in the oven.
Finish - A tanginess rests on, like that of concentrated lemon juice.
