Victron EasySolar-II 48/5000/70-50: Integrated 48V Inverter, Charger, and MPPT for Off-Grid Power

Unified Energy Management for Demanding Off-Grid and Backup Systems

The Victron EasySolar-II 48/5000/70-50 MPPT 250/100 GX consolidates a powerful 5000VA pure sine wave inverter, a 70A adaptive battery charger, and an advanced 100A SmartSolar MPPT charge controller into a single, space-efficient enclosure. By integrating these core components, this all-in-one 48V power hub reduces external wiring, simplifies installation, and minimises potential points of failure—making it an excellent foundation for off-grid solar systems, remote cabins, tiny homes, and critical backup power applications.

Designed for Australian conditions, the EasySolar-II delivers reliable AC power for household appliances, workshop tools, and sensitive electronics. Its integrated GX communication centre provides local and remote monitoring via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal, giving you full control over your energy system from anywhere.

Reliable 5000VA Inverter with High Surge Capacity

At the heart of the EasySolar-II is a 5000VA (4000W continuous) inverter that produces clean, stable 230V AC power. This output is suitable for running demanding loads such as air conditioners, water pumps, and kitchen appliances. For equipment with high inrush currents—like compressors or induction motors—the inverter provides up to 9000W peak power, ensuring reliable starts without voltage dips. The PowerAssist feature intelligently supplements limited grid or generator supply with battery power, preventing overload trips and maintaining system stability.

High-Performance MPPT 250/100 Solar Charge Controller

The built-in SmartSolar MPPT 250/100 maximises energy harvest from your photovoltaic array. With a 250V maximum open-circuit voltage and 100A charge current, it can handle up to 5800W of solar input. Victron’s ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm adapts rapidly to changing light conditions, capturing up to 30% more energy than conventional PWM controllers—particularly beneficial during overcast weather or partial shading. Direct M6 bolt connections for the PV array ensure secure, low-resistance terminations.

Integrated GX Monitoring and Control

The onboard GX device serves as the communication hub, eliminating the need for an external control unit. It features a built-in digital display for real-time system data and supports connectivity via VE.Can, VE.Direct, USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. This enables seamless integration with managed lithium batteries (BMS-Can), Victron accessories, and the VRM portal. Through VRM, you can monitor performance, adjust settings, and receive alerts from any smartphone or computer, providing peace of mind whether you’re on-site or away.

Key Features

  • All-in-one integration: Combines inverter, charger, MPPT, and GX control in a single IP21-rated aluminium enclosure, saving wall space and installation time.
  • 9000W surge capability: Starts heavy inductive loads with ease, reducing the risk of nuisance tripping.
  • Ultra-fast MPPT 250/100: Processes up to 5800W of solar power with 99% peak efficiency for optimal energy yield.
  • Comprehensive connectivity: Onboard Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VE.Can, and VE.Direct for BMS integration and remote monitoring via VRM.
  • Adaptive 70A charger: Multi-stage charging with temperature compensation extends battery service life.
  • Dual AC outputs: Separate connections for critical and non-critical loads, enhancing system flexibility.

Simplified Installation, Reduced Footprint

Traditional off-grid setups require separate mounting and cabling for the inverter, solar charge controller, and monitoring gateway. The EasySolar-II integrates these functions internally, dramatically reducing the physical footprint and the labour associated with external DC wiring and communication cables. The M8 battery bolts provide secure, high-current connections, while the AC screw terminals accommodate up to 16 mm² (approx. 6 AWG) conductors. This streamlined design not only speeds up commissioning but also lowers material costs and potential points of failure.

Built for Australian Off-Grid Environments

Housed in a durable aluminium enclosure (RAL 5012 blue) with IP21 protection, the EasySolar-II is engineered for indoor installation in demanding off-grid settings. Its fan-assisted cooling maintains performance in ambient temperatures from -20°C to +45°C, while the conformally coated electronics resist humidity and dust. The unit’s programmable relay can be configured for generator start/stop, low-battery alarms, or other custom functions, adding a layer of automation to your power system.

Take Command of Your Energy

Whether you’re building a new off-grid residence, upgrading a remote workstation, or designing a resilient backup system, the Victron EasySolar-II 48/5000/70-50 delivers integrated intelligence and dependable performance. Order your EasySolar-II today and experience the simplicity of unified power management with professional-grade Victron engineering.

An enjoyable new series with promise
Format: Mass Market Paperback
This is the first in a series. I have already ordered the next one so I like it. The main character Charlie Harris is a widowed library archivist. He lives in his late aunt's house and takes in borders and he owns a Maine coon large cat named Diesel. This is already a somewhat unusual cozy mystery because the main character and devoted cat owner is male. Charlie is a very personable character. He loved his wife (she died of cancer) and his late Aunt. He has 2 grown-up children that he cares about and he likes his job. He gets involved in a murder because his boarder, a young college, student is involved. His archival skills come in handy in providing clues to the murder. The deputy in charge of the investigation is the daughter of his long-time housekeeper. I didn't peek ahead to see who-did-it and I enjoyed the story til the end.. I don't think it's the type of mystery where all the clues are available and the reader tries to figure it out. The reader gets the clues as Charlie . gets them and finds out who the murderer is when Charlie finds out. Yet, the characters are engaging, the setting is interesting and it is a fast and enjoyable read. The plot is credible I like it.

Very good, entertaining mystery.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I don't know if this author has written other books before beginning this series but it is a very good FIRST in what is so far just a 3 book series. I ordered all 3 but am reading them in order as I always do. The author tends to go into too much detail about mundane things about things like fixing a meal, etc., but it isn't too distracting from the story. I like a little hominess but this is overdone just a tad. The story moved right along establishing characters without throwing in so many that you simply can't keep them all straight as some authors do. A thoroughly despicable victim so nobody cares if he dies violently. And, to me, a reeeely surprise ending. For someone who has read as many mysteries as I have, this was a pleasant surprise and the author doesn't give you hints till you are almost at the reveal so that you feel clever at figuring it out but you don't figure it out too early and you are still a bit surprised that you were "right" about who did it. Also, the "hero" is a thoroughly likeable guy. Don't you hate it when the "hero" or "heroine" just comes across as someone you don't really like much. You know, the one that if he or she gets beat up, you sort of feel like they deserved it and you've not really sorry. Well, if something bad had happened to "Charlie" I'd have been very upset. Now, if #2 will just show up I'll get on with the series. This is a series I'll be keeping in my library to reread in a couple of years.

OK book
Format: Kindle
I read this for our book club, got the book on Kindle, so the "back of the book" description was not there...It took me a while to get into the book. I'm used to female lead characters, and I had to adjust for the lead character to be Mr. Charlie. The manners shown by the characters are a bit dated, by about 40 years, but it's nice to be re-exposed to good manners. Loved Deisel the cat, but whenever he's mentioned (which is a lot) it tells he's a cat. That got to be old, fast. Otherwise, it was a good book, quick read. I was rather shocked to learn that Miranda James is just a pen name for a male writer.
