Celebrating the anniversaries of Goldfinger (1964) and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) Orlebar Brown's gold capsule takes inspiration from scenes and characters from each film and combines them with its signature tailoring and premium fabrics. Each element of the collection has been looked at, including a gold update for metal finishes, zip pulls and closures.
Backstory. These black Bulldog swim shorts are an homage to Goldfinger's iconic laser scene. Not only are they laser cut for a precise modern fit, but they also feature bright red piping inspired by Auric's deadly laser along the back panel. The gold-tone side adjusters have debossed 007 and Orlebar Brown logos, inspired by the golden bullet Scaramanga sends to MI6 in The Man with the Golden Gun.
Details. The design is crafted in immaculately tailored stretch nylon built with a technical bonded construction. Details are clean-cut and action-packed: bonded PU tape finishes the front pocket edges and laser-cut rear vent, a laser-cut 007 logo at the back. The shorts feature adjustable branded matt-black gommat side fasteners, bonded rubberised tape grosgrain, a black metal concealed snap closure, concealed stash pocket on left-hand side seam and branded stripe transfer print on both legs.
The Bulldog design has a shaped waistband and adjustable side fasteners for a superior fit with a zip fly front fastening. Hip pockets and a single rear zipped welt pocket add functionality, while tailored darts give great shape. The shorts feature side splits for enhanced movement and are net lined for extra comfort and security. They come with a durable water-resistant drawstring bag to carry and protect your shorts when wet, or store your valuables by the pool. Made in Portugal from Italian-woven 93% nylon, 7% elastane, tested to 50mg/l of chlorine.
