The Katana features a ton of V Werks specific tech. The superstar of the show is the Full Carbon Jacket, a full carbon layer laminated to the core for the strongest ski at the lightest weight. When combined with the 3D Ridge and Multilayer woodcore, Volkl have been able to make a ski impossibly light for how strong it is.

The shape of the ski is optimised for powder touring, though it works equally as well as a lightweight resort powder or freeride ski. 112mm waist provides a ton of float and the full rocker shape bats above its weight in windblown and crusty conditions commonly found in the backcountry.

Note: The VWerks Katana is optimised for use with Marker Bindings and may present compatibility issues with others due to the H shaped mounting plate.
