Olwen the Cat

Olwen the CatOlwen the cat is a linocut print on Fabriano 5, a half cotton and half woodpulp, smooth and acid free paper. It has been cut with gouges and knives from two blocks and printed on Sarahs little Adana press in a mid teal and a dark slightly green blue ink. The name Olwen means white footprint or track, after the daughter of a Welsh giant who was so gentle that white flowers grew in her footsteps. Image size: 8 x 7 cm. Paper size: 21 x 21 cm. Framed

Sarah Young is a painter, printmaker, illustrator and maker working with narrative themes often inspired by myth, folk tales, circus and burlesque imagery. As a printmaker she is known for her lino and wood cuts but she also works in screen printing, mono print and collagraph.
