Tempotec IM05 features a five-driver hybrid configuration on each side. The pair houses an 8mm dynamic driver unit combined with four balanced armature driver units. The drivers are arranged together in a precisely designed crossover so as to lower the distortion and deliver quality sound output.

Tempotec IM05 features a detachable cable design. Users can easily replace the stock cable or upgrade it in the future as the pair features a universal 0.78mm 2-pin connector type. The stock cable has a standard 3.5mm single-ended termination plug.
