Overview: Axelrod’s Corydoras Catfish, scientifically known as Corydoras axelrodi, is a small, peaceful, and hardy bottom-dwelling fish known for its active nature and attractive, spotted pattern. This species is a great addition to community tanks, where it helps keep the substrate clean by scavenging for leftover food.

Origin: Native to the slow-moving rivers and streams of the Amazon Basin in South America, Axelrod’s Corydoras thrives in soft, acidic waters with sandy substrates and plenty of leaf litter or plant cover. These fish are accustomed to well-oxygenated, clean water in their natural habitat.

Feeding: Axelrod’s Corydoras are omnivores and require a varied diet. They should be fed a combination of sinking pellets or wafers, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp. They also appreciate occasional vegetable matter like blanched spinach or zucchini.

Tank Mates: These peaceful fish are best kept in groups of five or more to encourage natural behavior and reduce stress. They are compatible with other small, peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, small gouramis, and other Corydoras species. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive species that may bully or outcompete them for food.

Aggression: Axelrod’s Corydoras are non-aggressive and highly social. They spend most of their time foraging on the bottom of the tank and get along well with other tank mates, making them ideal for a peaceful community setup.

Experience Level: Beginner. Axelrod’s Corydoras are hardy, adaptable, and easy to care for, making them an excellent choice for both novice and experienced aquarists. Their peaceful nature and manageable care requirements contribute to their popularity in freshwater aquariums.

Water Parameters: To keep Axelrod’s Corydoras healthy, maintain water temperatures between 72-78°F (22-26°C), a pH of 6.0-7.5, and soft to moderately hard water (2-12 dGH). A tank with a soft, sandy substrate, gentle water flow, and plenty of hiding spots will help them thrive and exhibit their natural behaviors.

In summary, Axelrod’s Corydoras Catfish is a delightful and easy-to-care-for species that adds activity and charm to any community aquarium. Their peaceful demeanor, attractive appearance, and role in keeping the tank clean make them a valuable addition to a wide range of setups.

Dog lives it
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: 20-70Lbs
Good solid dog toy. Dog loves it. Dog doesn't chew though it. Just don't step on it, it hurts with bare feet.

No Appeal
Flavor Name: Variety Flavored, Size: 20-70Lbs
6 Golden Retriever household and purchased these hoping they would like them. Unfortunately they do not. They do not seem to have much scent or appeal and went to the bottom of the basket. On the plus side, the seller reached out and offered an appreciated refund. Raised 1 star for response and responsibility.

Dog uninterested
Flavor Name: Bacon, Size: 20-70Lbs
My dog is a huge chewer and is constantly chewing on all sorts of different bones I've gotten her over time. This is the only one I've ever gotten that she refuses to touch, even when repeatedly offered it while I attempt to hype it up. She has a reachable toy bin where I store half her toys, and she pulls things out as wanted, and I swap out the toys in there when she seems to get bored. I left this bone in there for 4 months just to see if she would ever come around to it, but nope. Nothing.

My Dog Hasn't Destroyed Yet But Trying
Flavor Name: Chicken, Size: 20-70Lbs
My large 85-pound dog has chewed-up and destroyed just about every toy I've purchased for him over the past 3 years all within a week of purchase-- this one has lasted intact (although showing signs of wear) loner than most. Overall, I recommend.
