7g BCAAs, full EAAs, betaine, taurine, TRAACS® minerals

VMI Sports Aminogex is like a combo amino, performance, and hydration boost. It's not just a flavored BCAA mix, and it's not a full protein shake. The idea is to support you right around your workouts: hit you with a good leucine dose to start muscle building signals, give all the essential aminos to actually repair tissue, and back it up with stuff like osmolytes and chelated minerals for staying hydrated, keeping muscles working, and making training feel better.

The main part is the 7,000mg instantized vegan BCAA mix in a 2:1:1 ratio: 3,500mg L-leucine, 1,750mg L-isoleucine, and 1,750mg L-valine. This is the strongest piece here. Leucine is the key amino that flips on mTORC1, the pathway that gets muscle protein synthesis going. At 3.5g, it's a dose that really triggers that anabolic response. Isoleucine and valine round out the BCAAs, helping with nitrogen balance, fuel during training, and fighting muscle breakdown in tough workouts.

VMI didn't stop there—they added a 3,000mg EAA blend with lysine HCl at 1,250mg, threonine at 1,100mg, phenylalanine at 475mg, and smaller hits of tryptophan, histidine, and methionine. That's key because BCAAs alone can't finish muscle protein synthesis; you need all nine essential aminos as the building blocks. The blend is transparent on individual amounts, but the non-BCAA EAAs are on the modest side overall. Lysine and threonine are dosed well, but tryptophan, histidine, and methionine are more for support than big performance pushes.

The endurance and recovery side is what sets this apart from basic aminos. Betaine anhydrous at 1,250mg supports cellular hydration and methylation-d

VMI Aminogex EAA/BCAA by VMI Sports contains 30mcg Vitamin B12, a effective dose for muscle recovery and growth.

Key Highlights

  • 3,500mg L-Leucine — this is the star here, and it's a real solid dose. Leucine kicks off mTORC1 to get muscle protein synthesis rolling, so if you care about recovery and holding onto muscle, this is the one you want dosed right.
  • 7,000mg total BCAAs in a 2:1:1 ratio — 3.5g leucine, 1.75g isoleucine, and 1.75g valine. That's the classic setup backed by studies, giving you a strong signal for muscle building without just leaning on leucine.
  • 10,000mg total essential amino acids — VMI includes the non-BCAA EAAs that a lot of BCAA drinks skip. That's important because building muscle needs all nine EAAs, not just the branched-chain ones.
  • 1,250mg Betaine Anhydrous — a good dose for helping with cell hydration and methylation stuff. Studies often use 2.5g a day, so this is like a solid half-serving that shines with daily use.
  • 1,000mg Taurine — a nice amount for keeping osmotic balance, hydration, and nerve-muscle function. It won't hype you up like a stim, but it makes workouts feel smoother when fatigue or dryness hits.
  • TRAACS® chelated minerals — potassium, calcium, and magnesium in premium chelated forms. That's a step up from the cheap salts you see in most amino drinks.
  • Magnesium Glycinate Glutamine Chelate plus TRAACS® Magnesium Bisglycinate — smart choices for a workout product. Chelated forms are easier on your stomach than stuff like oxide.
  • 30mcg methylcobalamin B12 — the active form of B12, not the cheap synthetic junk. It helps with energy metabolism, fitting the workout support vibe even without stims.

VMI Aminogex EAA/BCAA by VMI Sports contains 30mcg Vitamin B12, a effective dose for muscle recovery and growth.

Who Is This For?

  • Lifters going fasted or light in the AM who need amino backup before a real meal. The 3.5g leucine triggers muscle synthesis, and added EAAs fill in what BCAAs miss.
  • Bodybuilders or physique folks in high-volume training who sip aminos mid-session. The 7g BCAAs, 1g taurine, and 1.25g betaine keep you feeling fuller and less wiped in long hypertrophy sets.
  • Night trainers wanting support without caffeine. Stim-free means pre, intra, or post without revving you up or killing sleep.
  • Athletes in heat or long sweaty workouts needing more than water. Not electrolyte-heavy, but taurine, sodium chloride, magnesium, potassium, and chloride beat plain amino powders for hydration.
  • Rec strength guys cutting calories who want to keep training strong and muscle safe. Leucine, full EAAs, and BCAA anti-breakdown help when food's low and recovery's tight.
  • Team sport players around practices and lifts. Easy between meals, no extra stims, and mixes amino with hydration for back-to-back sessions.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop with 16-24 oz cold water—adjust for how strong you like your amino drinks. For pre, take it 15-30 minutes before so aminos and hydration are flowing when you start.

Best for most is intra: sip across the workout, especially over 45 minutes or heavy sweat. Stim-free, so no half-scoop start for tolerance, but smaller folks can try half to check taste and gut feel. Use a shaker for even mix—better than stirring. Fine on empty stomach, but if sensitive, pair with a light meal. Food doesn't hurt it, and fasted use gets aminos direct if no recent protein. Stacks great with creatine, pre-workouts, or post shakes. No cycling needed—no stims or washout stuff. Keep it sealed cool and dry to stay clumpless.

What to Expect

In the first 5-10 minutes, it's just easy flavored hydration with real ingredients over plain water. No stim kick since it's caffeine-free.

By 15-30 minutes, it's mostly amino and fluid support—you won't 'feel' it like a pre, but it's there. During the workout bulk, it's subtle but real: better hydration, less drained as sets add up, and solid recovery setup after. For 40-90 minutes, sipping intra shines, especially longer sessions.

Over the first week, it's about steady amino hits around training. In 2-4 weeks, it builds: better recovery workout to workout, regular leucine and EAA boosts, and the 1.25g betaine paying off daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many BCAAs and EAAs are in VMI Sports Aminogex?

Each scoop provides 7,000mg of BCAAs and 3,000mg of additional essential amino acids, for 10,000mg total EAAs per serving. The BCAA ratio is 2:1:1 with 3,500mg leucine, 1,750mg isoleucine, and 1,750mg valine.

Is Aminogex just a BCAA product?

No. It includes a full essential amino acid profile, not just the three BCAAs. That matters because BCAAs can help trigger muscle protein synthesis, but all nine EAAs are required to fully support the rebuilding process.

Does Aminogex contain caffeine or stimulants?

No. Despite the metadata flag inconsistency, the verified formula shows no caffeine or stimulant ingredients. This is a stim-free amino and hydration formula, which makes it suitable for evening training or stacking with a separate pre-workout.

When should I take Aminogex?

Most users get the best results taking it 15-30 minutes before training or sipping it throughout the workout. Intra-workout use is especially useful for longer sessions, fasted training, or workouts performed in warm environments.

What does the 3,500mg leucine dose actually do?

Leucine is the main amino acid signal that activates mTORC1, the pathway involved in turning muscle protein synthesis on. At 3.5g, this is a meaningful dose and one of the strongest parts of the formula.

Why are betaine and taurine included in an amino formula?

They expand the product beyond simple amino support. Betaine at 1,250mg supports cellular hydration and performance physiology, while taurine at 1,000mg helps with osmotic balance, hydration support, and neuromuscular function.

Is this a full hydration formula for endurance athletes?

Not fully. It does include electrolytes and taurine, which is more than many amino products offer, but the sodium and potassium totals are modest. For heavy sweat loss or long-duration endurance events, a dedicated hydration formula with substantially more sodium would be better.

Can I stack Aminogex with creatine?

Yes, very easily. Creatine supports ATP regeneration and strength output, while Aminogex handles peri-workout amino delivery, hydration support, and recovery support. They complement each other well.

Can I use Aminogex instead of protein powder?

No. It is a useful peri-workout amino formula, but it does not replace the broader nutrition and total protein intake provided by a complete protein powder or whole-food meal. Think of it as targeted support, not a meal substitute.

Are the minerals in good forms?

Yes. Potassium, calcium, and magnesium are included in chelated forms, including TRAACS® minerals. That is a quality-forward raw material choice compared with lower-end mineral salts often used in the category.

Enchanting
Format: Kindle
"Queen of Roses" by Briar Boleyn is a delightful and refreshing reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur, with a captivating twist that places the spotlight on Morgan, a character who has often been overshadowed in traditional retellings. Boleyn's creative decision to shift the narrative perspective to Morgan breathes new life into the story, offering readers an intriguing and compelling look at the Arthurian world from an entirely different angle. One of the most commendable aspects of this book is its incorporation of Fae elements, which adds an enchanting layer of magic and mystery to the already familiar Arthurian setting. Boleyn skillfully weaves the world of the Fae into the narrative, creating a captivating backdrop against which the events of the story unfold. This addition not only adds depth to the world-building but also provides ample opportunities for twists and turns that keep readers thoroughly engrossed. However, while the book boasts numerous strengths, it does have one noticeable flaw: the characterization of Morgan. While it is reasonable to create a flawed and complex protagonist, it appears that at times, Morgan's character becomes overly difficult and hard to relate to. Her persistently negative perception of one of the main male characters, who is a potential love interest, despite his efforts to support and assist her, may come across as somewhat irrational and could test the patience of some readers. Striking a balance between a strong, independent character and one who can recognize genuine support and affection could have enhanced the overall reader experience. Nonetheless, the allure of "Queen of Roses" lies in its innovative approach to the Arthurian legend and its skillful blending of fantasy elements into a familiar narrative. Boleyn's evocative prose draws readers into a world where magic, destiny, and fate entwine, leaving us eager to uncover the mysteries that unfold within the pages. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An action-packed dark romantasy
Format: Kindle
I loved this book! Queen of Roses is an Arthurian-inspired dark romantasy that is the first book in the Blood of Fae series. The story follows Morgan, the princess of Camelot who is rumored to be part fae. Fueled by prejudiced hatred and a mistrust of fae blood, Morgan’s abusive father strips her of her birthright and hands it to her half-brother, Arthur. Instead of becoming queen, Morgan is commanded to join the temple of the goddesses when she comes of age. However, Arthur turns into a psychopathic, power-hungry, fae-hating king as he ages. He develops malevolent plans and commands Morgan to find an ancient weapon with legendary power. Although Morgan is wary of Arthur’s intentions, she embraces the opportunity to go on a journey and potentially change her fate. The story picks up from there and we follow Morgan on her quest to find the ancient relic. It’s full of high stakes adventure, mystery, tension, banter, forced proximity, hidden magic, self discovery, and betrayal. This first installment of the series intricately develops the world building and character development. There’s little romance in this book, but it is evident that it is a slow burn that will continue to develop throughout the remainder of the series. Overall, I loved the world building, the epic fantasy, Morgan’s journey of self discovery, and all of the twists and turns that set the stage for the future installments. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Arthurian Fae Quest…say less.
Format: Kindle
A fae centered Arthurian tale unlike any I’ve read so far. The author did a great job at descriptive world building, with scenes easily playing out in my minds eye. There was plenty of action, suspense, and even a touch of horror. An enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, a quest, with plot twist and turns aplenty. There was a love triangle, which I’m not usually a fan of but, it played out well in this story line. The FMC, Morgan Pendragon, was so blatantly naïve, yet I typically expect as much in a ‘book one’ of a series, especially one that features a fairly sheltered princess. I was happy to read that in spite of this, she still showed a strong sense of morals, fire, and spine. Now our MMC? Kairos Draven, aka Void’s Edge. Oh, how I’m a sucker for a smoking’ hot grumpy warrior alpha with a witty mouth, and a strong sense of “touch her and die” attitude, so you know who held all my cards. That ending? Just made me swoon all the harder. Now add a battlecat that rivals the size of a horse…and well Ms. Briar Boleyn you have well and truly stolen my heart. I’m excited to see where the story goes from here, and follow along to see more of the characters growth. I went into this story fairly blind, and I think I enjoyed it all the more because of it. Once the story got going, it had me in an absolute chokehold and it was difficult to put down.

Not a bad start
Format: Kindle
3 stars Thank you Netgalley and Briar Boleyn for the ARC! A camelot/king Arthur retelling with fae. I was hooked by the idea of this book immediately and was eager to jump into this world. • slow burn • enemies to lovers • who did this to you Morgan Pendragon watched her mother die by her father's hand when she was just eight years old, hiding under the bed. Morgan is believed to have the tainted blood of the fae in her veins and is cast aside so that her fathers illegitimate son, Arthur, can become the king. She's seen his cruel treatment of the fae firsthand, so when he sends her on a journey to find a fae weapon she seizes the opportunity to do more with her life. Along the way, she finds more than she could have imagined. I don't know a whole lot about King Arthur and Camelot but I had a lot of fun with this story! The plot has some similar tropes to popular romantasy books (From blood and ash) but there's enough originality here that it doesn't feel like I'm reading a copy. I liked how the fae were different in appearance than what is typical in most fantasy books I've read. In this book they have blue hair, violet skin and a wide range of other characteristics. I thought that the world building was easy to follow and I could easily immerse myself into this world. After reading the blurb I kept wondering when she was going to go on the journey to find Excalibur and it doesn't happen until around the 45% mark. The story is a bit slow at times but starts to pick up once they begin their journey to find Excalibur. The John Wick style Inn was a fun concept that I enjoyed reading about. There are a lot of similarities to this and FBAA and I would have liked to have it be a little more different, but I'm hoping book two will have the story turn into something of its own. Overall I enjoyed reading this story and I'm looking forward to reading book two especially after that ending.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo
