Kalymnos is one of the most iconic sport climbing destinations in the world, and for good reason. The climbing is good, the setting is absurdly beautiful, and the whole place feels built for long days outside. With more than 3,000 routes packed onto a tiny island, there is no shortage of options.
While Kalymnos is best known for its steep caves and massive tufas, the climbing is more varied than people often expect. There are wild, three-dimensional features, technical face climbs, lower-angle routes, and plenty of moderates that make this an incredibly fun place to climb for a full week. Whether you want to improve your lead climbing, get more mileage outside, or just spend your days climbing on beautiful limestone above the sea, Kalymnos delivers.
It’s also just a lovely place to be. The drives are short, the views are huge, and after a full day of climbing you can swim in the ocean and eat an unreasonable amount of very good food. There’s a reason we keep coming back.
