In this influential posthumous masterpiece, Dutch missiologist J. H. Bavinck guides readers in a candid, eloquent, and eye-opening exploration of religion, revelation, and the distinctness of the Christian faith in the context of global religions. Bavinck’s five ‘magnetic points’ (cosmic relationship, religious norm, the riddle of existence, our craving for salvation, and our awareness of a supreme power) are a transformative rubric for bringing Christ to the world, including those identifying as religious “nones.” Now for the first time in hardcover, with a luminary introduction by Daniel Strange, a new generation of Christians, pastors, and theologians can benefit from J. H. Bavinck’s must-read study of the contrast between Christianity and world religions.

______________

J.H. Bavinck (1895–1964) was an internationally admired pastor, missionary, theologian, and apologist. A nephew of famed dogmatician Herman Bavinck, he studied at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and then in Gießen and Erlangen, Germany before ministering in the Netherlands and in Indonesia. He went on to serve as professor at the Vrije Universiteit then at Kampen. He wrote widely on the theology of missions and elenctics.

______________

“J. H. Bavinck is a sublime but neglected thinker. Through his psychological insights, global focus, and rich biblical theology, his works offer the reader a uniquely Reformed perspective on Christianity (and the Western culture it produced) in relation to other faiths, and the cultures most deeply shaped by them. This book provides a sterling example of that. The Church Between Temple and Mosque is essential reading for Christians looking to understand other faiths, as well as the uniqueness of their own.” James Eglinton, Meldrum Senior Lecturer in Reformed Theology, University of Edinburgh

Bulky
I was a little disappointed in how bulky these were and seemed hard to get on. If you can get past this they do seem to work good. Hands do seem softer and a bit healthier.

Really moisturizes hands
These gloves really work. My cuticles and hands alway seem dry. I used these gloves the first night I received them and my hands were really smooth afterward. When I get in bed at night, I play on my computer and iPad, and these gloves are perfect. The end of the index finger is designed to be used with a phone, computer, and iPad. Make sure you push the end of the fingers on the gloves all the way down to the end of your fingertips; otherwise you will not be able to use them with a device. I find they work better with my iPad than my computer. I have not tried to use with my phone. The gloves are not uncomfortable, but I found they are not comfortable to wear all night, so I just try to wear them about an hour every night. I wish I had these gloves about 20 years ago and my hands would probably look like a 20 year old.

So much pain
I had to remove these after less than 5 minutes as they caused such intense pain. The gel clings to your skin even with the lotion and tightens around your hands cutting off circulation. They have been off for about half an hour and my hands still hurt. I was so excited as I really like this brand in general. Very disappointed. Be very aware when buying.
