Description

The 1x6 Jende Silicone Carbide #80 grit stone is an aggressive and extra-extra coarse stone designed for serious profiling and repairs. While it may leave longer "whisper" scratches that rise slightly above the bevel, its aggressive nature and ability to eat away metal make it a valuable tool. It effectively replaces coarse diamond plates and other extra coarse and coarse sharpening stones.

The 1x6 Jende Silicone Carbide #120 grit stone is an aggressive and extra coarse stone used for serious profiling, repairs, and initial sharpening. While it is not as aggressive as the #80 grit stone, it still provides effective sharpening capabilities.

Both stones are 1"x 6" x 5mm in size and mounted on a steel blank. They are used with water only and work best when soaked for a minute or two before use. It is important to store them in a dry place between uses.

These Silicon Carbide stones are versatile and can be incorporated into various sharpening progressions with other synthetic and natural sharpening stones. They are compatible with brands such as Chosera, Shapton, Sigma, Suehiro, Imanishi, Spyderco, King, and more. While they should not be used with oil, they can be used in conjunction with oil stones if the blade is wiped clean before and after switching stone types.

The Jende Silicone Carbide #80 and #120 Grit stones are suitable for sharpening knives, scissors, tools, and chisels, including those made with abrasion-resistant steels. They are designed to be used with TSProf, Edgepro, Hapstone, and Jende JIGS systems. Additionally, their compact size makes them convenient for use as slip stones, field stones, or pocket stones for on-the-go knife repairs and sharpening.

It works
The adhesion on this is great once you've pressed it down. Key to note that it slips off very easily if it's not firmly pressed to the paper Im sublimating with. That's more of a plus for me because it's easy to move around and adjust without ripping the paper. Great value for the dollar overall. Performance wise it's done a great job of holding down the paper and stopping bleed through.
