Plunge into the deepest corners of dystopian medical warfare, near-future survival, and whimsical dark fantasy with this high-grade collection of Image Comics first printings. This highly curated set pairs the critical mid-series escalations and the historic, hard-to-find series finale of the acclaimed sci-fi thriller Surgeon X with a major early chapter from Emma Kubert’s hit fantasy epic, Stoneheart. Featuring breakout storytelling and artwork from legendary industry visionaries like Sara Kenney, John Watkiss, James Devlin, and Emma Kubert.

All four books are in pristine, brand-new, and unread condition—making this collection a phenomenal pickup for indie completionists, sci-fi thriller collectors, or independent retail store owners looking to add high-interest modern backissues straight onto their storefront displays or longbox inventories.

The Comic Book Lineup

I. The Surgeon X Dystopian Arc (Includes the Series Finale)

  1. Surgeon X #4 (2016) — Cover A First Printing: The intense, high-stakes medical thriller written by filmmaker Sara Kenney charges forward. Set in a near-future London crippled by an antibiotic apocalypse, brilliant rogue surgeon Rosa Scott must make brutal, life-or-death triage choices. Features the stunning, gritty line work of the late, legendary artist John Watkiss (The Sandman, Conan).

  2. Surgeon X #5 (2017) — Cover A First Printing: The socio-political tension hits a terminal ceiling. As the government tightens its autocratic grip on life-saving medication, Rosa’s underground, back-alley surgical operation faces severe compromise, forcing her to choose between the Hippocratic Oath and absolute survival.

  3. Surgeon X #6 (2017) — Cover A SERIES FINALE KEY: The thunderous grand finale! This scarce, low-print final issue marks the tragic and definitive conclusion of the series, wrapping up the dark corporate healthcare conspiracies and the fate of the Scott family. This is the final published comic book work of legendary artist John Watkiss before his passing in 2017, making it a highly significant piece of modern comic book history.

II. Modern Image Fantasy Showcase

  1. Stoneheart #2 (2023) — Cover A Emma Kubert First Printing: A sharp, magical transition into the whimsical dark fantasy world created entirely by comic royalty Emma Kubert (Inkblot, Radiant Pink). Shayde Whisper struggles to maintain control over her volatile, expanding magical powers while navigating local rivalries and the looming, sinister inner monologue that threatens to corrupt her identity.

Product Highlights

  • Official Series Finale Key: Features Surgeon X #6, the hard-to-find final chapter that holds deep long-term collector value as a low-print run finale.

  • A Historic John Watkiss Tribute: Contains the final three consecutive chapters illustrated by industry titan John Watkiss, showcasing his masterclass command over anatomy, shadows, and neo-noir architecture.

  • Collector-Ready Presentation: A uniform set of pristine modern first printings that look exceptional on physical retail racks, online web showcases, or individual social media storefront walls.

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
