Light: Bonsai Zelkova thrives in bright, indirect light and will also appreciate some gentle direct sunlight, such as morning or late afternoon sun. A position near a window is ideal. It can tolerate lower light for short periods, but consistent bright light will keep growth healthy and compact.
Water: Keep the soil evenly moist, but never waterlogged. Bonsai Zelkova does not like to dry out completely, so check the soil regularly and water when the top layer begins to feel slightly dry. During warmer months, this may mean watering several times a week, while in winter watering can be reduced. Good drainage is essential to prevent root issues.
