Цей художній альбом презентує різноманіття та розвиток театрального костюма та графіки впродовж 100 років на прикладі ескізів найяскравіших художників-сценографів України. Значна частина представлених у виданні робіт зберігається у фондах Музею театрального, музичного та кіномистецтва України, який славиться своєю величезною колекцією української сценографії. Деякі ескізи публікуються вперше, інші ж є добре впізнаваними 'візитівками' українського мистецтва.
На сторінках видання представлено роботи 22 художників різних поколінь і мистецьких кіл: як визнаних класиків української сценографії, так і сучасних художників, які працюють із театральним костюмом вже у ХХІ столітті.
This art album presents the diversity and development of theatrical costumes and graphics over 100 years based on sketches of the brightest scenographers in Ukraine. A significant part of the works presented in the publication belongs to the funds of the Museum of Theater, Music, and Cinema of Ukraine, which is famous for its abundant collection of Ukrainian scenography. Some sketches are published for the first time, while others are well-known showpieces of Ukrainian art. The pages of the publication present the works of 22 artists of different generations and art circles: both recognized classics of Ukrainian scenography and modern artists who work with theatrical costume in the XXIst century.
