Sipeed MaixCube is an all-in-one development platform based on the M1n module which is powered by the Kendryte K210 core. It is equipped with a camera, TF card slot, user buttons, TFT display, lithium battery, speaker, microphone and an expansion interface. This provides a great platform for everyone to start learning about AI development.

The KendryteK210 which acts as the main control chip for the MaixCube, is very powerful. The module has a built-in 64-bit dual-core processor chip and 8M of on-chip SRAM. It has outstanding performance in AI machine vision and Auditory applications. It has a variety of hardware acceleration units such as KPU, FPU, FFT, etc. and the total computing power can be up to 1TOPS, which can conveniently realize machine vision/hearing algorithms of various application scenarios, and can also perform pre-processing work of voice scanning and voice data output.

Users can use MaixCube to easily build a face recognition access control system.

A Wide Range of Sipeed Modules (SP-MOD) Supported

Through the SP-MOD interface on the MaixCube which is a standard 2.54mm 2x4 Pin female header, with Vcc, GND, and 6 signals, you can connect to various SP-MOD modules and extend your AI projects further.

What is MaixPy?

Before getting to know about the MAIX product series, it is very necessary to understand the MaixPy project. It can help you quickly use the Al module.

MaixPy is a project of porting Micropython to K210 chip (running Micropython parser on K210), that is, users can finally control the function of K210 chip through Micropython programming. For example, you can directly call the facial recognition algorithm built into the firmware through Micropython programming, and finally generate a Micropython file, which can be downloaded to the Flash chip, and run on it. In addition, MaixPy supports the normal operation of MCU and integrates machine vision and microphone arrays to rapidly develop intelligent applications in the field of AIoT with extremely low cost and practicality.

What is the Development Environment on MaixCube?

By default, the development board has burned MaixPy firmware (the firmware source code is open source and can be downloaded from Github). MaixPy has developed a variety of functional libraries that developers can call directly. Maix series products use Maix IDE developed by the Sipeed team. The software is free of installation. After downloading, you can directly use MaixPy to use Micropython script syntax. Developers can edit the script on the computer and upload it to the development board to execute the script directly on the development board. The IDE can view camera images in real-time and save files to the development board, which is very convenient for development.

Check the height of your keyboard before ordering
This is a beautifully made, elegant looking wrist rest. The finish is satin perfectly smooth to the touch. As keyboards vary in height, be sure to measure he height of the front edge of yours before ordering—I didn’t (which is entirely my fault) and found that this wrist rest is just a wee bit too tall, which positioned my wrists a tad higher than I’m used to. Another factor you may want to consider are the ergonomics of solid wood versus other materials and your personal preferences (e.g., I tend to prefer cloth covered gel, because he cloth keeps my wrists from sticking and the gel is cushioning). My closing thought: this wrist rest is that it is by far the best looking of any wrist rest I’ve ever seen. Simply outstanding.

For years I was against monitor risers and stands as a concept easily defeated by VESA mount on monitor arms, but I overlooked a secondary function that monitor risers have: Display and storage. I have too many keyboards. Three that I regularly use. Now I can throw two of them in a drawer when not in use, or I can look at them and appreciate them all the time. I’m not a fan the usual keyboard displays either: awkward acrylic stepladders that they are. So had to figure out something else. I also have a headphone amplifier that I like quite a bit but was just sitting out on the desktop. So I looked at seemingly every monitor riser that exists on Amazon, and elsewhere and found that this Fenge product (Rodin on their website) fits the intersection of value, good build quality, and beautiful design aesthetic. Unlike the Hexcal shelf, which has great build quality and design, but costs $600+, for $109 (at time of purchase), you get a visually intriguing multilevel riser with aluminum hairpin feet, good sturdy materials, a beautiful (albeit synthetic) warm walnut finish (though available in four other finishes as well). Cleans easily with a dry or lightly damp rag. This isn’t your Mind Reader riser with all function but being an eye sore. It’s also pricey enough and has an interesting enough product to feel premium without being unreasonably priced for what you get. Building it was a pleasure. Packed so well, and everything in order as far as parts go. Wasn’t missing any, assembled so easily, and even better to see in person than in pictures. I have a 72” desk and had to rearrange some things to fit it, but well worth it. It serves the functions I need, but if you need more from it (like holding your devices), there’s another variant with phone, headphone and laptop stand built into this design. Also, if this isn’t visually interesting enough, there’s a third version with RGB and an acrylic lower shelf to create some illuminating pop on your workspace. As you can see, my workspace has no shortage of illumination as is, so I skipped that. But I think it did well. It partially displays my keyboard collection, stores my headphone amp, can hold a pen or two as I study, and I don’t need it to do much more on the regular. I know it won’t fit every desk aesthetic, but if you already have tech statement pieces on your desk, this may be the perfect complement.

Well made and stylish riser for my sit stand desk.

I got this to provide a place to tuck my 49 key Arturia keyboard. The only thing I wish they would offer is a taller leg option by 1 or 2 inches in height. Regardless this thing is a beast and will easily hold a wide screen monitor or dual 27” monitors and space to tuck your laptop underneath on the middle shelf out of the way. I happen to have my monitor on an arm to provide even more usable space on the top. I have a USB switch on the right middle shelf and room for my AirPods on the left with room to spare. My Apple pencils fit perfectly on the tray as well as my iPad. In order to make this work for my application I ended up getting some acrylic cubes and silicone bumpers and pads to raise the height by two inches so my 49 key keyboard would easily fit underneath. It turned out really well for the look I wanted. If the legs were longer I wouldn’t have had to take it this far. The color is pure white and matches my desk color perfectly. It was super easy to put together. It is very solid and has a durable easy to clean finish. All in all I have no regrets making this purchase. It is very functional even without the height modifications that were specific to my needs. I will come back with a photo or two once I get settled in my new place and finish getting my studio set back up.
