Magician Zoanthids are a classic, high-contrast zoa variety with a deep reddish center, bright ring, and lighter skirt. They’re hardy, adaptable, and excellent for both collectors and farm systems because they grow steadily without being invasive.

Lighting

Moderate light, typically 80 to 150 PAR. Magicians keep their red and ring coloration best under mid-intensity lighting. Too much light can bleach the center or tighten the polyps. Too little light causes stretching and dulling of the inner ring.

Flow

Moderate, indirect flow. Enough movement to keep debris off the mat and encourage frequent opening, but not so strong that skirts tuck inward. A gentle, swaying flow pattern works perfectly.

Placement

Flexible. Mid to lower rockwork is common, though they’ll do fine almost anywhere with stable conditions. Magicians develop tight, uniform mats, so place them on a rock or tile where you want them to spread gradually. Keep away from aggressive LPS sweepers since zoas don’t fight back.

Water parameters

They thrive in nutrient-positive, stable conditions.

Calcium around 400 to 420.
Alkalinity around 8 to 8.6.
Magnesium near 1300 to 1350.
Nitrate 5 to 20.
Phosphate 0.05 to 0.1.

Ultra-clean water tends to wash out zoa colors. Slight nutrients deepen the reds and purples.

Feeding

Not required, but they respond well to occasional small-particle foods or amino acids. Feeding increases head production and strengthens coloration, though they mostly rely on light and dissolved nutrients.

Growth behavior

Moderate to fast. Magicians tend to spread in tight circles and maintain uniform heads, making them easy to frag. They usually grow faster once they form a stable mat over rock rather than on a plug.

Sensitivities

Watch for zoa-eating nudibranchs, sundial snails, and vermetid irritation. Sudden changes in salinity or temperature can cause temporary closing. They’re generally tougher than many high-end zoas.

Compatibility

Peaceful, no stingers. They mix well in zoa gardens and don’t overrun neighbors unless left untrimmed for very long periods. Their vivid red-and-ring pattern adds strong contrast in both mixed reefs and dedicated zoa displays.

Tasty and Effective
Size: 1.45 Pound (Pack of 1)
I don't care for the orange flavored fiber at all, but this tastes good. Normally I get unflavored and add crystal light, so this saves me some effort. The only drawback is that I can't concentrate or dilute the fiber per ounce as much, since that changes the flavor. Personally I find 2 teaspoons per 8oz to be the max dilution I can handle, making it not too flavorful to be chugged while still being just flavorful enough to help me overcome the somewhat odd texture of the fiber. It's best to add this to mildly cold water, mix well (I shake it vigorously in a water bottle), and drink immediately. If it's mixed well in cooler water at the right dilution and you don't wait too long to drink it, the fiber is almost unnoticeable. From my doctor and my own knowledge as an evolutionary biologist: For those of you who are just starting fiber, it's important to not start with the full dose. Doing so can shock your digestive system and have the opposite of the intended effect. Ramp up from one teaspoon, taking it daily (best in the evening) adding an additional teaspoon each week until you reach 4 teaspoons (a tablespoon, the recommended dose). When used regularly and correctly, daily fiber can be a life changer. Our gut microbiome is an integral part of our digestive system. It evolved with our species, and we need to feed it what it evolved to eat!

Sweet but good.
Size: 1.45 Pound (Pack of 1)
Make sure to buy flavorless fibers as well and blend together with this one at least 50/50 if not 25/75 since it's very flavorful and very sweet with not so healthy sweeteners.

Tell R&D to find a new flavor house, this tastes awful
Size: 1.45 Pound (Pack of 1)
This “berry” flavor tastes astoundingly terrible. It is a wonder to me that this could have passed any product development team. It is like the worst kind of cough medicine mixed with bitter off notes, and it is a very strong flavor, so it is very in your face. The orange original is not great tasting but not bad, you would assume they would only release a new flavor if it was better. They ought to call a flavor house and reformulate this, the technology exists to make this taste good, but wow, this is really unpleasant.

Good flavor
Size: 1.45 Pound (Pack of 1)
Good flavor. I quit drinking Metamucil in the past because I didn't like the orange. I was reluctant to try a different flavor but after reading many positive comments about this one I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. Thank you to all who left positive comments about the Berry flavor.
