Many manufacturers of high-end audio electronics, digital sources and turntables have repeatedly expressed that you have never truly heard a component’s sonic capabilities unless you hear it when it has been effectively isolated. Such are the effects of resonance within music systems that by simply adding isolation devices to your hi-fi system can instantly and completely transform the sound.

The Crescendo Modular Rack is the premium rack produced by AG Lifter and it incorporates technologies that deliver supreme performance through the use of layers of isolation and decoupling.

AG Lifter considers isolation feet to be superior to other solutions such as spikes or cones. For this reason, they utilise their Dulcet 20 Isolation Feet at the base of each AG Lifter audio rack. Further to this, each shelf is supported by Dulcet 19 Isolation Feet (with available options of Original or GOLD). The Dulcet 19 Isolation Feet are distance settable with 2 options of placement on the horizontal parallel rails at the front and back of the rack or the perpendicular rails for perfect placement according to the size of the electronics placed on the shelf. The perpendicular rails are adjustable from left to right, tuning the chassis of your rack for the best performance. Each module is then decoupled using a stainless steel bearing assembly sitting in a billet CNC machined cap pressed into the vertical custom extrusions and this system is then repeated at each layer all the way to the top of each Crescendo Modular Rack.

The frames of the AG Lifter racks are constructed out of a custom designed proprietary aluminium alloy extrusion (ISO 9001) with polished and anodized custom billet caps which have been designed with dampening properties. This special extrusion resulted from extensive research and development which modelled and tested various profile designs. A proprietary fastener is used to further apply tension to the extrusion resulting in a frame which is perfectly balanced – dampened but live enough to provide an exciting sound. The AG Lifter Crescendo Rack incorporates two levels of audio isolation and includes a frame designed to move the isolation points on each shelf individually from left to right and from front to rear. This provides greater tuning potential for the isolation of each audio component, which is achieved by tensioning the complete frame and which delivers sonic advantages as a result.

After extensive research, AG Lifter decided that the most consistent product to use for their audio rack shelves is acrylic. The lower shelves are 15mm thick acrylic and the lower shelf design is CNC-cut to be captive within the rack frame. This means that audio equipment can be installed without the shelves sliding out. The top shelf is 20mm thick acrylic with greater thickness being incorporated in order to accommodate heavy-weight audio equipment (eg. turntables). In the standard set-up, nitrile bearings support the Crescendo Modular Rack top shelf. However, special Turntable Dulcet Isolation Feet can also be used as an additional upgrade if desired by the user. This three-layer isolating system floats the plinth of your turntable.

This design objective was to produce an audio rack that performed at the highest level but was also easy to assemble and install in all types of listening rooms. Some brands provide audio isolation solutions through the use of high mass and weight. While this method can be effective, it does however make the finished rack extremely heavy to ship and to move. Instead, AG Lifter has treated the art of audio isolation like a tuning fork, using a lighter weight structure in order to isolate your audio electronics. The end result is an ultimate-performance rack that is much easier to install and move. The understated, elegant design is also aesthetically pleasing to behold.

What is unique about these rack systems is that they use the Dulcet Isolation Feet technology throughout the rack whereas a more common approach is to use spike or cone technology. This difference is immediately palpable when comparing AG Lifter Racks to other brands and as a result, the AG Lifter Crescendo Rack system outperforms other competing offerings which come at a considerably higher price. In terms of outright performance and value for money, the AG Lifter Crescendo Modular Rack is exceptional.

Why do isolation devices improve sound quality?

The presence of vibrations of various frequencies, also known as ‘resonance’ or ‘harmonics’, can be very harmful to the performance of audio components. In a music system, resonance can be ground-borne (be transmitted into the system up from the floor), air-borne (be transmitted into the system from the air surrounding the system) or originate from the actual audio equipment. Factors such as transformers, power supplies and electronic components resonate at various frequencies and these vibrations spread throughout the component internally and then out to the rack and through the rest of the system, mixing with vibrations caused by other pieces of equipment.

The performance of audio components are affected by these vibrations and in some cases they micro-phonically pick up these frequencies and repeat them, causing reverberations. The presence of resonances in a music system can result in a higher noise floor, ghosting effect, low level hum, a smearing, or lack of clarity of sound, blurriness or hard, glassy edge to your music.

Isolation devices mitigate these resonances, thus allowing the equipment to operate the way it was designed and to perform optimally.

What is the effect of introducing isolation devices to a system?

The addition of an AG Lifter Crescendo Rack can have the following effects on a system:

  • The sound becomes tonally correct and with increased weight, scale and authority.
  • Sound stage height, width and depth is expanded.
  • Quieter background, lower noise floor.
  • Imaging improves and the sonic presentation ‘snaps’ into focus.
  • A deeper, tighter bass performance with increased definition.
  • More ‘organic’, or natural textures.
  • An increase in detail across all frequencies.

So Comfy!
So soft, so comfy! I have never had a wrist rest before, but since upgrading to my first custom keyboard, which is higher off of the desk than my previous one, I wanted some comfort and support. This wrist rest is perfect, but keeping in mind it is meant for ten keyless keyboards, and my keyboard is also made by Glorious, it is perfect size and height. For a slimmer lower profile keyboard it might be a bit tall. I would make sure that your keyboard thickness will accommodate how thick this thing is. It is nice and firm, and should hold up for a long time :)

Great for the Logitech G915 and G915X
Color: Stealth, Size: Full Size
Pretty much the perfect size and height for comfortable, ergonomically-correct typing on the low-height gaming keyboards like the G915 and G915X from Logitech. Got one of these for work and loved it enough to get one for home as well.

so I felt like it was time to invest in a wrist pad
Color: Black, Size: Full Size
Im an Editor and spend most of my days typing in front of a computer. I've never really used a wrist pad before, but my wrists were laying on the edge of my desk, which after a while, began to hurt my wrists, so I felt like it was time to invest in a wrist pad. I looked at plenty of them here on Amazon and this one from Glorious had some great reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. Even though I'm not a "gammer," this rest is beyond awesome! It's perfect for typing all day, and even though some reviews noted that it was too "high" - it's really not and works great on a keyboard with a kickstand under it, or even when I'm not using my wireless keyboard, it still works great typing on my MacBook Air (2015 Edition). It has a sticky underside that keeps it in place, but it's also not too sticky, so you can move it around with ease. I will admit, it is a little firm, so if you're looking for a wrist pad that's "gel-like" for your wrists to sink into - this is not for you. It's firm and holds your wrists up above the keyboard so that you're typing downward, rather than having your wrist slanted up at a 45 degree angle, which is terrible for you. I've only had the wrist pad for 2 days, but I can't tell you how much pain it's relieved from my wrists sitting on the edge of my desk. The full length one fits perfectly with my keyboard with the numbers extended on the right side, and should I decide to only use my laptop's keyboard, the pad works great for that as well. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a solid, firm pad to rest your wrists on while typing.

My wrists feel like they are way too high to type comfortably
For the Price and function of this product to me it gets 3 stars. To problem is however for me, the height of the pad is a bit ridiculous. My wrists feel like they are way too high to type comfortably. I am using an HHKB pro2 and using this wrist rest, my wrists are suspended extremely high up compared to my keyboard. It just does not feel right. But at the very least this wristrest prevents me from digging my wrist into the edge of my desk which is all I wanted it to do really in the first place. But with my wrists this high up, it just seems extremely awkward to type normally. Maybe hopefully the wristrest will flatten over time. It has to be mentioned as well that my unit is not perfectly flat. If I put pressure on either the right or left side of the wrist rest, the opposite side of which I pressed will result in being raised upwards. This is not a huge problem, I am just nitpicking here. Lastly, the gaudy branding is a turn off for me. This is extremely subjective but if it came just purely with no logo or a much smaller one I would have been happier. I dont really need everyone who walks by my computer setup to read "Glorious PC gaming race." I just do not fit that age demographic anymore. If this wrist rest was a few CM lower in height, and the branding was gone. I wouldve easily gave it 6/5 stars. The build quality seems very good and sturdy.

Beautiful and comfortable wrist rest
Color: Walnut Wood, Size: Large
This walnut wrist rest is fantastic. It’s a solid, well-crafted piece of wood with a great natural feel. The edges are nicely filed and smooth to the touch, and the wood grain looks beautiful in person. You can really feel the texture of the wood when typing, but it’s never rough or uncomfortable—just a nice tactile reminder of the quality material. The color and finish are great, not glossy or sticky, and it stays cool and comfortable even during long sessions. It fits perfectly with my full-size keyboard and adds both comfort and a great aesthetic to my desk setup. If you’re looking for a wrist rest that’s both functional and classy, this is absolutely worth the price. Highly recommend.
