Model Trailways Concord Stagecoach 1:12 Scale Wood and Metal Kit

The Abbott Downing Company of Concord, New Hampshire built its first stagecoach in 1827. These coaches were used for passenger and mail service between St. Louis and San Francisco. Abbott produced coaches for both Wells Fargo and Butterfield Overland Stage companies.

Weighing over two tons, the coaches were solidly built. The bodies rested on leather thorough braces - not for the passengers' comfort, but to prevent injury to the horses. The wheels were made of seasoned white oak to withstand the heat and the cold. Leather "boots" front and back held mail sacks and luggage.

The interior was just over 4' wide and 4-1/2' high. Three benches provided seating for nine passengers. They traveled day and night, suffering from choking dust and stifling heat in the summer, intense cold in the winter, and the ever-present threat of robbers and hostile Indians. After completing the 2,812-mile journey, one newspaper correspondent wrote, "Had I not just come out over the route, I would be perfectly willing to go back, but I now know what hell is like. I've just had 24 days of it."

An act of congress discontinued stagecoach mail service on June 30, 1861. The stagecoach era came to an end with the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869.

Our kit replicates the original with steerable wooden wheels, working suspension, and opening doors. Cast metal wheel hubs, axles, and door hinges; brass strips, rods, nails, nuts and bolts, and photo-etched brass parts add authentic detail. The driver s bench is perched at the top of the wagon and the interior is complete with seating for nine. Decal sets for both Wells Fargo and Butterfield let you choose the version you ll build. Laser-cut basswood parts, well-drawn plans, and clear instructions make assembly easy.

The orange and blue ball is perfect. Once start taken because the because the blue noisy one was a little to easy for my dog to start ripping pieces off. Will say most toys do not survive his chewing.

Aggressive chewer who loves fetch approved!!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
I highly recommend the Chuck-It brand in general, especially for dogs with an aggressive bite. These balls are awesome and are the most durable balls I’ve bought for my 50 lbs lab mix. He has not been able to break one of them yet and we’ve had a few of the squeaky balls for months. They are a bit pricey but worth it. The one in the pic has been used for months, lives outside and you can see it’s still in great shape.

Good quality dog ball for playing fetch
Size: Medium
My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.

Heavy chewer approved.
Style: Ball, Size: Medium (Pack of 1)
My pomsky will destroy a toy in minutes. Ropes, and the "indestructible" nylon type stuffs are no match for my furry shark. This ball has stood up to him like David. He loves the crunch and it is so much more tolerable than a squeaker. These will be a staple in his toy box - Chuckit toys are really the most durable dog toys I have found in three years.
