In Dominant Species, set around 90,000 B.C., a new Ice Age is looming, sparking a colossal struggle for global dominance among animal species. This game for 2 to 6 players abstractly depicts the impact of the encroaching Ice Age on various creatures as they adapt to the changing Earth.

Players take on the roles of one of six major animal groups—Mammals, Reptiles, Birds, Amphibians, Arachnids, or Insects. Starting in a state of equilibrium, players must navigate the "survival of the fittest" as they compete for dominance across different Terrain tiles to earn valuable Dominance Cards. Propagating their species is crucial for earning Victory Points.

Players will utilize actions like Growth, Migration, and Domination to advance their species. As the Ice Age progresses, the game culminates with the player who has amassed the most Victory Points being declared the Dominant Species. With the climate cooling, players must act quickly to secure their dominance!
