About this treasure:A sentimental ring, this piece marks the passing of a dearly missed loved one during the Victorian era.
We not only appreciate the story behind mourning rings, but we also love how it epitomises Victorian sentimental jewellery. Mourning jewellery became popular in the Georgian and Victorian era as a way of remembering those who have passed. They are testaments to the adoration of one to another.
The front of this ring features a striking panel. At the centre we have an emale panel with the letter OMI which graduate down the shoulders with floral enamelling The attention to detail is fabulous and shows the love and loss. Plaited aroud the band of the ring is the rich brown hair of the loved one; which we find out more about within the ring.
Looking inside the band is the hand engraving ‘Thos (short for Thomas) Hemsley Chapman died Nov 1st 1877‘ . We have been able to track down Thomas to living in Hackney London at his death, and being able to leave £3000 in his will; a handsome some of the day!
This jewel is in remarkable condition considering its 150 years of age. We adore the sentimental meaning as well the highly ornate and exceptional design work. The entire piece is created from rich warm 9 carat rose gold, its deep buttery glow bringing exceptional quality to the ring.
This would make an amazing addition to any jewellery lovers collection. Not just an beautiful ring, but a piece of love in history.

Cute Rhymes and wonderful info
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
This book is super cute and makes bugs interesting with it's colorful pages and different big varieties. The book rhymes throughout the pages and it's so cute and almost reminds me of song that could have sung by the "Animaniacs" (my age is showing lol). In one of the pics I show the cover damaged but that's from my son chewing on the book. Just because it's a board book doesn't meant it's exempt from damage, just makes it last a little longer than a paperback.
I also REALLY like that there is a page that lists the bugs seen along with their names which is helpful in teaching your little one! My son enjoyed this beautiful book. :)

Perfect size, cute illustrations and words
Format: Board book
My toddler girl is super into bugs right now. This book was suggested alongside a bunch of other bug books I purchased (Maisy’s Nature Walk, Bugs, All Because a Little Bug Went Kachoo, The Lonely Firefly, A Good Place). What a great find!
It’s the perfect board book size for me to hold or for my toddler to hold. The illustrations are darling and the words simple enough that my almost 2 year old has pages memorized. When she sees a picture she’ll spout out the words. I appreciate the back page with the illustration of all bugs with their names because lord knows my toddler asks me time and time again “what’s that?!” and mommy is fresh out of lies. My insect knowledge is clearly not as profound as my daughter.

This book is like crack to my 16 month old
Format: Board book
I bought this book as a gift for my friend's son, but when it arrived, my daughter saw it and wanted me to read it to her, so I did. Then again. Then again. Needless to say, I had to buy a second copy to send to my friend's son. It's been about a week, and my daughter is OBSESSED. There have been tantrums when we need to stop reading Some Bugs to do something else. It's by far her favorite book. The illustrations are so colorful and layered, there are so many things to look at. She loves pointing at the different bugs (her favorite ones are the hawk moth and the dog tick). The text has a great rhythm and is fun to read, I'm not tired of it yet after our hundredth reading. I highly recommend this gorgeous, fun book.

Perfect for learning about bugs!
Format: Board book
Purchased this because my kids class is learning about bugs. It is so cute, and both my kids my 3 year old and almost 2 year old love it! The pictures are so cute, and they really do go through each bug, making it educational. Such a fun book at a great price for 1-3 year olds.
