The replacement for the California, the Ferrari Portofino is the current Ferrari Grand Tourer, one that represents a perfect combination of outright performance, driving pleasure and on-board comfort like no other. Named after one of Italy’s most beautiful towns, the particularly evocative moniker evokes the charming tourist ports’ elegance, sportiness and understated luxury. The distinctive new launch colour of the Portofino was also dedicated to the marvellous settlement: Rosso Portofino.
Capable of unleashing a massive 592bhp from its 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the Ferrari Portofino is the most powerful convertible to combine the advantages of a retractable hard top, a roomy boot and generous cockpit space complete with two rear seats suitable for short trips. The Portofino can sprint from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 3.5 seconds and 0-200km/h (0-124mph) in just 10.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 320km/h (199mph).
An all new chassis made of 12 different aluminium alloys features a significant weight saving (over 80kg) over its predecessor, thanks to extensive use of innovative production technology, despite an increase in torsional rigidity. This, combined with higher power output than the California T, has resulted in a significant hike in performance as well as a corresponding drop in emissions. The Portofino’s vehicle dynamic characteristics have been completely revised and benefit from the introduction of new technological solutions, resulting in an even more dynamic, responsive car that also delivers superior ride comfort.
The Ferrari Design Centre-penned Portofino is an aggressively-styled car with a two-box fastback configuration – unprecedented in a coupé-convertible with a retractable hard top – that adds extra sleekness to its silhouette, lending it a sportier character without impinging on its elegance and dynamism. Close collaboration between the Aerodynamics department and Ferrari Design has ensured maximum aerodynamic efficiency in the Portofino’s graceful design.
This fine 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari Portofino has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the co-operation and assistance of Ferrari regarding original finishes, materials, archive imagery and drawings. The use of supremely accurate digital scanning of the original car has allowed us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Furthermore, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by both engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
The Ferrari Portofino is limited to just 199 pieces.
