A Vintage Laptop Backpack with the Salt of a Port City

Göteborg grew up around its harbour — canals cut by Dutch engineers, cranes on the Kattegat, salt and coffee in the same breath. It’s a working city, and this is a working bag.

The Göteborg vintage laptop backpack is built from waxed cotton canvas and crazy horse full-grain leather, materials that don’t ask to be babied: you load them up, carry them out, and they quietly get better for it. Sling on one of our waxed canvas backpacks and it sits like it’s been yours for years — even on the first morning.

Built Around the One Thing You Can’t Replace

Underneath the heritage looks, the Göteborg is organised for a working life. A quilted, padded computer interlayer cradles a laptop up to 15.6 inches — a MacBook, an ultrabook, a tablet — held inside the main compartment, away from the knocks of a packed train or a bike rack.

Around it there’s room for a notebook, a charger, a paperback and a lunch without complaint. It’s the bag for the commute that turns into a café, the lecture that turns into a long evening — the day that doesn’t fit a single label.

Waxed Canvas and Crazy Horse Leather, Aging on Your Terms

Run your thumb over the canvas and you feel the wax in the weave — a dense, dry finish that turns a passing shower without any synthetic membrane, and can be re-waxed when the seasons turn wetter. It’s water-resistant rather than waterproof, and honest about it.

The crazy horse leather is oil-immersed full grain: firm and matte at first, then softening and darkening where your hand falls and the straps flex, so the bag ends up marked by your routine rather than someone else’s idea of new. The brass buckles dull to a warm patina alongside it.

Pockets Where You Reach for Them

Nothing here is decorative. A buckle-closing front pocket keeps a wallet, sunglasses or keys a single flip away, and two open side pockets take a water flask or a folded umbrella.

The main opening sits under a leather flap with a concealed zip beneath it — quick for you, slow for a hand in a crowd — while two interior pockets stop the small things sinking to the bottom. Magnetic buckles snap the flap shut in seconds when you’re on the move.

Who Carries a Göteborg?

It suits the people who carry their work with them: students crossing campus, designers and writers moving café to studio, commuters who’d rather own one good bag for a decade than three cheap ones in the same time.

It’s a unisex cut in muted, lived-in colours — emerald, dark grey, coffee and army green — and it makes no promises it can’t keep: no laptop-proof waterproofing, no expedition harness, just a well-made canvas-and-leather backpack that earns its place by being used.

One Bag, Many Chapters

Carry the Göteborg through a few seasons and it stops looking like a product and starts looking like yours — the canvas softened, the leather creased where you grip it, the brass gone warm.

Look after it now and then, and it’ll outlast the laptops it was bought to protect, collecting the marks of every commute, campus and trip along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

+

Yes. Inside the main compartment, a quilted padded computer interlayer holds a laptop up to 15.6 inches — a MacBook, ultrabook or tablet — cushioning it from the knocks of a commute.

+

It is water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. The waxed cotton canvas and the leather flap over the opening turn light rain and splashes; for heavier or prolonged rain, re-waxing the canvas keeps its resistance at its best.

+

A 15.6-inch laptop in the padded interlayer, plus a notebook, charger, paperback and lunch in the main compartment. The front pocket takes a wallet or sunglasses, and the two side pockets hold a flask or a folded umbrella — enough for work, study or a full day out.

+

The main opening sits under a leather flap with a concealed zip beneath it, which keeps a quick hand out in a crowd. Combined with the magnetic-buckle flap, it offers a good level of everyday security on public transport.

+

Spot-clean the canvas with a damp cloth and air-dry it, then re-wax when the fabric looks dry or lightens at the creases. Wipe the crazy horse leather and feed it occasionally with a little balm; natural marks and a deepening patina are part of its character.

+

The Göteborg has a unisex design and comes in four muted colours: emerald, dark grey, coffee and army green.

It comes with a 2-year warranty and a 30-day return policy, and payment can be split into 3 or 4 instalments at checkout.

Good to cover food and create with
Size: 100 Count (Pack of 1)
Not strong enough to carry food on, but good enough to cover small bowl in microwave to prevent splatters, small enough for toddlers to create with.

Nice and sturdy!
Size: 300 Count
This was our first time to try the Amazon Basics Everyday Plates. I typically purchase paper plates in bulk from a big box club store. These are just as good, if not better! They are thick and sturdy, and hold up well. The price point it also better! My only negative is the design on the plate isn’t the most appealing. I think it’d be better if the design was limited to just being on the edge, and not across the entire plate.

Great Size, Strong Enough for Everyday Use, and Worth Reordering
Size: 300 Count
I reorder these regularly, and that really says the most. They’ve been consistent, practical, and a good value for what you get. They’re strong enough to handle normal meals without feeling like they’re going to give way. I’ve had no issues using them for everyday food, and they hold up well as long as you’re using them as intended. I also like the size. They’re a little over 8½ inches, which works well for most meals. If I have something heavier, I can put a plate holder underneath, and these still fit just fine. The print/design is simple, which I don’t mind at all. I’m more concerned with how they perform, and these do what I need them to do. I’ve used name-brand paper plates before, and for my everyday use, I feel like these compare very well, especially considering the price. I’ll also be honest—paper plates just make sense for me. I tend to drop things because of how my hands work, so this helps prevent broken dishes and the cleanup that comes with that. Plus, it definitely cuts down on doing dishes. Overall, these are reliable, affordable, and something I’ll continue to reorder.

Great Everyday Paper Plates for the Price
Size: 100 Count (Pack of 1)
For around six bucks, getting 100 microwave-safe paper plates like this is a really good deal. Also, they’re actually pretty good quality. They can hold a decent amount of food and they don’t get all soggy or start dripping through the bottom halfway through eating. The soak-proof part is legit. Another thing I liked is the design. The white and green looks simple but nice, and they honestly just look better than a lot of the random cheap paper plates out there. I’ve been using them pretty regularly for quick meals and throwing food in the microwave, and they’ve been really convenient. I will say, if the food is extremely hot, the bottom of the plate does warm up pretty fast since the plates are somewhat thin underneath. Sometimes using two plates instead of one helps with that. Aside from that though, they’ve been excellent. For the amount you get, the quality is genuinely solid and they’ve held up really well for everyday use. Amazon Basics definitely nailed these. 100% would recommend them.
