Di colore rosso rubino, al naso ha sentori di violetta, ciliegie mature e vaniglia. In bocca ha un'acidità brillante, i tannini sono dolci; buona complessità e finale persistente di ciliegia.

Una volta considerata una varietà secondaria e da tutto pasto, oggi la barbera è un vitigno importante, in grado di produrre vini rossi di grande prestigio. La Barbera Tre Vigne prende il nome dai tre vigneti coltivati a questa varietà autoctona piemontese di proprietà di Vietti a Castiglione Falletto, Monforte e Castiglione Tinella. Il Tre Vigne invecchia sia in legno di Slavonia, che in barriques che in acciaio per 12 mesi, ottenendo così un vino fresco, dalla vivace acidità e complessità che lo rendono un vino rosso interessante, dinamico e adatto ad ogni occasione.

Si abbina con antipasti, insalate, verdure grigliate, zuppe, carne di vitello, maiale e pollo con sughi leggeri.
