Deep, bright purple-red and concentrated looking. This is very composed, intense and aromatic. Spicy black fruit - blackcurrant and blackberry, hints of creme de cassis, wet tobacco, iodine, dried blood/ferrous notes but with an underlying red fruited nuance. Dark cherry, dried raspberry and light leafy notes. The more you look, the more you see. The palate is decidedly medium bodied with the darker fruit flavours shining and adding to the sense of depth and texture while the red fruit characters add length and persistence. The flavours and complexity are framed by chamois like tannins with their light chalky-crunch and smooth long finish. Classic, fragrant, medium bodied Yarra cabernet that that is designed for a very long future.
