Overcoming Apathy: Gospel Hope for Those Who Struggle to CareFor many Christians, apathy can feel inescapable. They experience a lack of motivation and a growing indifference to important things, with some even struggling to care about anything at all. For many Christians, apathy can feel inescapable. They experience a lack of motivation and a growing indifference to important things, with some even struggling to care about anything at all. This listlessness can spill over into our spiritual lives, making it difficult to pray, read the Bible, or engage in our communities. Have we resigned ourselves to apathy? Do we recognize it as a sin? How can we fight against it? In Overcoming Apathy, theology professor Uche Anizor explains what apathy is and gives practical, biblical advice to break the cycle. Inspired by his conversations with young Christians as well as his own experiences with apathy, Anizor takes a fresh look at this widespread problem and its effect on spiritual maturity. First, he highlights the prevalence of apathy in our culture, using examples from TV, movies, and social media. Next, he turns to theologians, philosophers, and psychologists to further define apathy. Finally, Anizor explores causes, cures, and healthy practices to boldly overcome apathy in daily life, taking believers from spiritual lethargy to Christian zeal. This short book is an excellent resource for those struggling with apathy as well as parents, mentors, and friends who want to support someone in need.

“One of the greatest dangers for modern Christians is not apostasy but apathy. In the church, there are not masses of people who are in danger of denying Jesus, but some are in danger of growing bored with him. In Overcoming Apathy, we are met with practical ways for the church to fight back against one of our greatest challenges and we are confronted with the beauty of the gospel and the glory of King Jesus.” J. T. English, Lead Pastor, Storyline Church, Arvada, Colorado; Associate Professor of Christian Theology, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; author, Deep Discipleship; coauthor, You Are a Theologian

Best one yet
Best tasting Metamucil if you enjoy carbonation. Less sweet than regular (even the no added sugar version felt a bit overly sweet to me). Lemonade is a close second but a bit too expensive. Wish it would come with a scoop but I saved one from a different product and dropped it into the jar here.

Great product, dislike new 43oz size
Works well. Prefer the “fizzy” formula over all others. I recommend adding powder to your cup, fill 30-50% with cold water, then use a small handheld milk frother to blend. It’ll “foam” then settle, add you can add more water. (If you fill the whole cup with water right away it’ll overflow when it foams up.) I prefer to drink it quickly, before it starts to thicken into a heavy gel/paste. 3 star rating for 2 reasons: 1) Strongly dislike the food coloring! 2) They recently changed container size and shape. It used to be a 29oz cylinder, now it’s 43oz and more like a tub. The new format is too large for my kitchen vitamin drawer + too wide and heavy to grab with one hand. (I’ve included side by side pics here - didn’t think to take them until I’d already removed the 43oz label for recycling.) I saved my last 29oz canister and I’ve been decanting powder from the 43oz, keeping the 43oz in pantry storage.

Great product
I have been using Metamucil for a long time! I can tell a difference in using the plain and the vitamin variety. I feel a more energetic. I will not use this variety close to bedtime. It does fizz a lot. Only add a small amount of water to the glass and after the fizz settles down add more water. Great product!

Fantastic product, dont like the texture - mix with food. Still 10/10 💩🎉
Flavor Name: Orange, Size: 15 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Taste: While the product doesn’t taste bad, preparing it as directed results in a very mild orange flavor. -as a drink I would prefer more flavor. Texture: The psyllium husk absorbs water extremely quickly—even in cold or room-temp water—which is just the nature of the ingredient itself. Because it starts to gel so fast, you have to chug it, and even then it can be difficult to get down. (I personally gag at it, but I have sensory issues) If the gel like texture is an issue for you, I found it more palatable mixed into food with water on the side. Texture aside, the product itself is highly effective. Mixability: It doesn’t always mix smoothly and tends to clump. Again nature of the ingredient not the brand. The powder is very fine and non-gritty perfect for other mixings. Side effects: I had uncomfortable bloating the first time (2 scoops/ full glass), I recommend starting with (1 scoop or less/full glass) Dont rush it. Increase it from there as you grow tolerance. You may feel very full. - it helped me eat less!
