The Gardener Gift Hamper - SaffronEach of our Gardener Gift Hamper's include an 'A. Q. May' Market Token. These were used at Spitalfields Market, dating from 1850 to the early 20th Century, tokens were used as a deposit, which the buyer would purchase in return of fruit and vegetable crates and baskets that the grower would sell their produce in. These were used up until the 1960s and manufactured made by R. Neal of Percival Street, London. Each of our Hamper's are slightly different.

May Antique Brass Hexaganol 5s Market Token (2.5x2.5cm).
