Wat maakt van deze granola een 'Recovery Granola'?

Post-workout hebben je spieren nood aan herstel. De drie bouwstenen van een optimaal herstel zijn:

  1. Koolhydraten om je spieren op te laden voor de volgende training
  2. Eiwitten of proteïnen om je spieren te laten herstellen van de vorige training
  3. Antioxidanten om de ‘vrije radicalen’ te neutraliseren, die vrijkomen tijdens het sporten en spierherstel belemmeren

Onze Red Fruits-variant is een uitstekende bron van koolhydraten en antioxidanten. Gecombineerd met een kommetje magere kwark ( = proteïnen) vormt het de ideale herstelmaaltijd na een zware training.

 

Voor de sportvoedingsfreaks: 

Antioxidanten zorgen voor een sneller spierherstel door de vrije radicalen te neutraliseren, waardoor je minder spierpijn hebt de dag nadien. Grote hoeveelheden antioxidanten op lange termijn beperken echter de trainingsadaptatie, oftewel de structurele aanpassing van het lichaam na veelvuldig trainen. Een hoge dosis antioxidanten innemen na je training is dus niet zo interessant.

De vruchten in onze Red Fruits-granola bevatten net genoeg antioxidanten. De morellen (een speciaal soort krieken) zitten echter ook barstensvol anthocyaninen. Die bioactieve stof versterkt de antioxidatieve eigenschappen van de andere vruchtjes, maar ZONDER het nefaste effect op de trainingsadaptie te vergroten. Kort samengevat heeft onze Red Fruits-granola een spierherstellende werking op korte termijn, zonder je sportieve vooruitgang op lange termijn in het gedrang te brengen.
