Dat is een witte appellatie in de Mâconnais die volledig op Chardonnay is gebouwd en bekendstaat om wijnen met meer breedte dan een eenvoudige Bourgogne Blanc.
Wijngaarden en regio
De herkomst is hier bepalend voor de stijl, juist omdat Pouilly-Vinzelles een kleine appellatie is met een duidelijk eigen gezicht binnen de Mâconnais.
- Ligging / Herkomst: Pouilly-Vinzelles ligt in de Mâconnais en omvat de dorpen Vinzelles en Loché. Daarmee zit deze wijn in het zuidelijke deel van Bourgogne, direct naast het bekendere Pouilly-Fuissé.
- Expositie: De appellatie omvat ongeveer 50 hectare wijngaarden met vooral een zuid en zuidoostelijke ligging. Die oriëntatie helpt om Chardonnay mooi rijp te krijgen zonder de spanning uit het fruit te halen.
- Bodem: De ondergrond is argilo-calcaire, dus klei en kalksteen. Dat geeft de wijn tegelijk rondeur en een strakkere minerale ondertoon.
- Regio-context: De hellingen van Pouilly-Vinzelles lopen door vanuit de overwegend kalkrijke zones van Chaintré en Fuissé. Daardoor sluit deze appellatie stilistisch aan bij Pouilly-Fuissé, maar vaak met een iets compactere, preciezere signatuur.
- Wijngaard: De gemiddelde leeftijd van de stokken is 30 jaar en het rendement ligt op 45 hl/ha. Dat geeft de wijn voldoende concentratie om zijn ronde maar verfijnde stijl te dragen.
Vinificatie en rijping
De kelderaanpak blijft bewust strak en klassiek, zodat Chardonnay en herkomst volledig in beeld blijven.
- Oogst & Selectie: De oogst gebeurt machinaal. Dat past bij een wijn die vooral op zuiver fruit en nauwkeurige verwerking is gebouwd.
- Vergisting: De vergisting verloopt traditioneel in roestvrijstalen tanks, met temperatuurcontrole en 100% malolactische omzetting. Daardoor krijgt de wijn meer ronding en zachtheid, terwijl de frisheid netjes overeind blijft.
- Rijping / Houtopvoeding: Daarna rijpt de wijn 8–10 maanden in roestvrijstaal. Dat houdt de stijl puur en precies, zonder toast of vanille van hout.
Druivensamenstelling
Deze wijn is volledig gebouwd op 1 druif, precies zoals je bij Pouilly-Vinzelles mag verwachten.
- Chardonnay – Pouilly-Vinzelles: Chardonnay vormt de volledige basis en geeft de wijn zijn combinatie van bloemigheid, rondeur en minerale spanning.
Proefnotities en serveertips
Lichtgeel in het glas, met een verfijnde neus van acaciabloesem en verse amandel. In de mond is deze Pouilly-Vinzelles rond van aanzet, maar tegelijk precies en mineraal, waardoor hij mooi strak blijft uitlopen. De afdronk houdt lang aan en geeft hem meer sérieux dan zijn zachte eerste indruk doet vermoeden.
- Serveertemperatuur: 10–12 °C werkt hier het mooist, omdat dit bereik zowel de bloemigheid als de minerale spanning goed laat uitkomen.
- Gerechten: Rivierkreeft, wit vlees, escargots en Comté sluiten hier prachtig op aan, omdat de wijn rondeur en frisheid mooi combineert.
Bekroningen
- 93 punten, Bettane + Desseauve 2024: Omschreven met een mooie lindebloesemneus en een frisse, precieze, slanke mond. Dat past heel goed bij de strakke en elegante stijl van deze 2021.

Easy install. Glides nicely holds the jars without much movement. The labels are wonderful. I am super pleased. We bought 4 left facing for our cabinet. Not done replacing all the jars and such. But you can see a good idea how it will be. The fit out needs perfectly and looks great. I really like how neat and good visibility too. They seem sturdy with all the weight of the filled bottles also.

Great space saver, keeps everything organized.

I am soooo happy with this purchase! I’ve been researching lots of spice racks to see which ones would best suit my needs. This definitely fits the bill.
This product was perfect. It includes everything you need to organize your spices: the rack, screws, stickers, bottles, and a white gel pen to write additional spice names. The rack is heavy duty and sturdy. Once anchored to your cabinet, there’s no way it’s falling out.
The bottles are a good size and you can transfer standard store bought spices directly into the bottles. An additional asset is that the bottles come with a shaker spout that has two options for use. It can easily snap off and on when refilling.
The stickers are well thought out. They’re good quality labels and can easily be repositioned. I accidentally had an edge stick to the middle of a bottle and was scared that it wouldn’t come off. I was happy that it lifted up cleanly and didn’t wrinkle the sticker.
I didn’t have a need to write a lot of new names, except for two so far. Using the pen included, I wrote labels for Dashi and Seasoning-Arrachera. I tried to match the font of the labels and I think I did a pretty good job. You wouldn’t notice it was hand written unless you really stared at it. The white pen is great and so easy to write with. I didn’t have to go over any letters. One pen stroke was enough.
It also came with labels that you can place on the side of the rack for easy identification. I haven’t put them on mine yet because I still need to buy two more racks to store all my spices. Then I can get them all organized the way I want.
This is such a space saver. One of my absolute favorite purchases!

Absolutely worth the money!

I can't say enough about these spice racks! I have kept my spices in a corner cabinet on lazy Susans for the last 25 years and that's worked great, but it did not have much curb appeal and some spices were in the middle of the caddies so I would have to pull the front ones off to get to the middle ones. Corner cabinets are tricky and can be such a waste of space, but I made it work. But now it doesn't just work, it sings! My husband bought me 4 units and they fit perfectly in the space. Whoever designed these racks thought through EVERYTHING. The labels are well organized with plenty of obscure herbs and spices as well as all the common ones, and some blank stickers for the products they don't have labels for. There is a list of all the spices and which page you will find the label. There are also small corresponding labels to put on the ends so you know which rack has your spice (I haven't put those on yet because I want to make sure I have everything where I want it first). Since I have 4 sets of labels, I used some for labeling the baskets where I have the extra spices for refills. The racks are sturdy and easy to install. These would also work well in cabinets that are not corners - you would pull them straight out and it would make it easy to access all of your spices. If I could give this 10 stars, I would.

Fabulous!

I wish I had remembered to take a picture before I emptied my spice cabinet. Actually, on second thought, it would be embarrassing to share. I have two of these sturdy slide-out spice racks and could use another one. The racks were not hard to install, slide smoothly, look great, and my spices are in order! I was able to fit two of them on one side of my cabinet. I love the jars and labels. I use some spices much more than others so I put the matching labels on the large containers of these spices and keep them on the top shelf. I would definitely buy these again!

Clever Space Saver with a Few Caveats

This spice rack system really helped bring order to the chaos in my cabinet, and it looks great doing it. The vertical design makes spices visible and accessible, and the included 20 jars and 801 labels are a huge bonus for customization.
🧩 Easy to Install, But Drawer Direction Matters
Setup is fairly simple, but take note: the drawer only slides out in one direction depending on which version you buy (left or right facing). As a reviewer noted on page 6, it’s not reversible, which can be a headache if your layout changes or you order the wrong orientation.
🪛 Build Quality is Solid but Assembly Could Be Smoother
The frame is sturdy and feels well-made, but you’ll need to screw the rails into the base — and the screws included aren’t the best. One user suggested bolts instead of screws (page 6), and I agree. A little more care here would elevate the overall experience.
🌶️ Jars and Labels Are Fantastic
This is where the system really shines. The jars are glass with metal lids and fit perfectly in the rack. The label set includes multiples in several fonts, blank ones, and even a chalk marker — very thoughtful!
