Bloeitijd Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Chiffon' op stam

De blauwe grote bloemen van deze struik zijn een blikvanger met hun opvallend gele hart. De bloeiperiode valt einde zomer van ca. juli tot en met september. De bladeren zijn frisgroen van kleur. Deze Hibiscus soort verdraagt een temperatuur tot -20 graden Celcius.

Aanplanting en bodem Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Chiffon' op stam

De Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Chiffon' staat graag op een plekje in de volle zon en verdraagt zomerse hitte redelijk, mits de standplaats voldoende vochthoudend is. Kan bij nachtvorst in april-mei schade oplopen. De grond kan matig voedselrijk, vochthoudend tot vochtig zijn. Niet een te zware of te lichte grond en een vrij neutrale zuurgraad (pH = 6 - 8).

Goed te combineren

Deze plant is buitengewoon goed te combineren met onze kant-en-klare borderpakketten. In grote borders ook te combineren met struiken als de vlinderstruik (Buddleja), pluimhortensia (Hydrangea paniculata) of hertshooi (Hypericum) en in kleine borders met Kluwenklokje, Lavendel en Lampepoetsersgras.

Soccer ball just for dogs

I could say "soccer", and our shoodle would wag her tail ready to play soccer with a tennis ball so I tried out this real soccer ball with her. Mostly, she just wants to wait for me to kick it, playing defense, so she can chase it like the tennis ball. After that she wants to usually bite it or roll over on top of it as a way to secure the ball, but sometimes she will have fun pushing it around with her nose or paws. I wanted to get a regular 6" soccer ball for our shoodle, but this was a good choice for dogs for the durability and safety of the rubber material. The hexagons give the dog some grip to pick it up. The rubber is soft enough to grip and expel air when they do figure out how to grip it.
