Bloeitijd Vlinderstruik - Buddleja davidii 'Ellen's blue'

Deze paarse vlinderstruik met oranje hart bloeit buitengewoon sierlijk, van juli tot en met september. De struik vormt vele prachtige diep blauwpaarse pluimen die licht geuren en verschillende vlinders, bijen en hommels naar je tuin zullen trekken! Als de winter niet te streng is, blijft de vlinderstruik groen. De laatst bloeiende pluimen kun je laten staan tot het volgende voorjaar voor een mooi winterbeeld.

Aanplanten en standplaats

Buddleja davidii 'Ellen's blue'staat graag in de volle zon of lichte schaduw (hij heeft minimaal 5 uur zon nodig per dag). De grond moet liever niet te rijk en niet te vochtig zijn, zorg dus voor een goed doorlaatbare bodem. Gebruik bij het aanplanten goede potgrond en geef jaarlijks een beetje tuinkalk. Deze vlinderstruik wordt ongeveer 1,50 meter hoog.

Bijzonderheden

De vlinderstruik is goed winterhard. Tijdens strenge vorstperiodes is het aan te raden hem te beschermen door aan de voet een laag stro te leggen. Ook kun je met vliesdoek de onderste takken afdekken.
