Dit uniek fotoboek biedt een bijzondere inkijk in een stad in veranderende tijden. Duitse bezettingen en militaire parades tonen barre tijden. Het kruitvat van de steeds verder bulderende industrie gemengd met arbeidersverzet resulteert in stakingen onder leiding van socialistisch boegbeeld Edward Anseele.
Gent, een stad van transitie maar ook van standvastigheid. Een stad vol keikoppen, plantrekkers en leutemakers. Een gigantisch casino aan de Coupure, cinema Select, verdwenen cafés en estaminets, het zijn allen signalen van een stad die vermaak opzoekt. Sommige plekken zijn verdwenen maar de ingesteldheid is gebleven, de inwoner is op zoek naar vertier, ongeacht de tijd.
Gent in kleur II toont een stad zonder groene Gilbertkes, zonder stadshal, grote steenwegen. Een stad met ijs op de Leie, met spelende kinderen op de Vlaamse Kaai, met én zonder vijandelijke bezetting, met arbeidersopstanden en vooral met geschiedenis. Een stad met persoonlijke verhalen en grote geschiedenis. Gent, stad van vele zwart-wit aanzichten krijgt vandaag opnieuw kleur.

Deze foto’s, uit private en publieke archieven, werden verzameld door Korneel Bostyn. Alle beelden werden digitaal geremastered en ingekleurd. Bij dit proces werd er bijzonder veel aandacht besteed aan het zo dicht mogelijk benaderen van de historische correctheid aangaande kleur.

Very cool and comfortable pillows. Great value.

These pillows are everything described on the site. They do retain shape and don’t flatten out after sleeping all night. They are nice and clean looking and comfortable. The fit on my king size bed is perfect cause I prefer the size to king size. Haven’t had to wash them yet but I have had other pillows with the same material inside and the wash ability is great.

Great pillow

Most comfortable pillow I’ve ever slept on
Size: Queen (1 Count), Color: Crescent White(cooling)
This is the most comfortable pillow I have ever slept on. It doesn't mash down like other pillows. Cradles my neck perfectly plus it’s cool. I broke my neck a couple of years ago and this pillow feels very good and comfortable. Definitely recommend to everyone. Ive used it since May and it’s retained its shape.

Smell
Size: Queen (2 Count), Color: Original White (Cooling)
The fact that there are not more comments on the smell of these pillows has me worried about some of yall. Listen, I LOVE the weight, and the firmness, it’s perfect for that. However, these pillows are RANK. They have a very strong mildew-ish smell that lingers. I took the outer cover off and washed it and let the pillow air out for a few days, the smell is still very strong when you press your face against it, which one does because it is in fact designed for that purpose. It smells so bad. It’s nauseating. I can smell it through two pillowcases and blanket that I threw on top of them hoping an extra layer would trap the smell. I’ll bake them in the Texas sun tomorrow and hope that helps, because otherwise these are the perfect pillows for someone who wants to feel like they are hugging a torso but can’t stand the sound/feel of someone else breathing. I don’t know…4 stars, if the smell goes away I’ll come back.
Update: many many days later. Either they don’t really smell anymore or I got use to it. They’ve held their firmness and shape well. I like them.
