Normaal gesproken wordt van de typische Siciliaanse druif Frappato rode wijnen gemaakt. Maar dit keer heeft Santa Tresa er een mousserende rosé van geproduceerd. En niet zomaar één! Deze biologische wijn heeft een elegante neus en is zeer verfrissend en sappig.

Perfect gebalanceerde druiven van Santa Tresa

Wijnhuis Santa Tresa bestaat al sinds 1697 en is vandaag de dag in handen van de Girelli familie. Het landgoed bestaat uit 50 hectare grond. Ze werken al jarenlang biologisch en hebben sinds 2009 de officiële certificering. De wijngaarden liggen bij de stad Vittoria in het zuiden van Sicilië. Op de vruchtbare vulkanische grond van de Etna groeien de druiven. De Frappato druiven worden met de hand geoogst tijdens de eerste dagen van september zodra de druiven de perfecte balans tussen suikers en zuurgraad hebben bereikt. De druiven worden in kleine container gedaan en worden ongeveer 48 uur gekoeld om de temperatuur te verlagen tot 10 graden. De druiven worden vervolgens zorgvuldig ontsteeld waarna de druiven in een pneumatische pers worden gedaan. Hierop volgt de alcoholische gisting bij 18 tot 20 graden voor de duur van 10 dagen. De tweede gisting vindt plaats in kleine autoclaven bij een temperatuur van maximaal 14 graden. De speciale giststammen die worden toegevoegd om de tweede gisting op gang te brengen, werken heel langzaam bij deze lage temperatuur, waardoor de versheid en typische kenmerken van de Frappato behouden blijven.

Dan is het tijd om van de Frappato Spumante Rose te genieten. Hij kleurt mooi zalmroze in het glas. Het is een elegant glas wijn met frisse fruitige tonen in het boeket. Het is een delicate en harmonieuze wijn met heerlijke aroma’s van vers fruit, citroen en heeft een aangename zuurgraad.

Two Filters, Quick and Easy

The RVgolf Engine+Cabin Air Filters Kit for the Toyota Tacoma V6 comes with two air filters. There is a cabin air filter that fits nicely into the compartment accessed through the glove box and an engine air filter that dropped in easily in the compartment under the hood. Replacement of both filters was easy, didn’t require any tools, and it took more time to empty and replace the items in the glove box than it did to replace both filters. The Toyota dealership quoted me $80 to replace the cabin air filter only. I replaced both filters for less than $30. The filters felt like they were good quality. The engine air filter is multi-layered, with a thin foam layer to keep larger debris from blocking the finer paper filter. The cabin air filter said and looked like it had a carbon layer to absorb smells. The only concern I had was size. After I had replaced both filters I went to slide the engine air filter I replaced into the RVgolf box to throw it away. The engine air filter I replaced would not slide into the RVgolf box. It was too big. After driving for a few days and a couple of hundred miles, I popped the hood and checked the fit of the engine air filter. The fit looked perfect. See attached photos.
