"De nummers klinken veel als de muziek waar ik naar luister," deelde hij, en hij noemde St Vincent en Unknown Mortal Orchestra als invloeden.

"Als elk nummer een statement bevat, verliest het ook wat van zijn impact. Ik heb dat aspect van mezelf niet losgelaten, maar ik wil niet voor altijd in die stijl leven," voegde hij eraan toe: "Het was de eerste keer dat ik me kon openstellen en ontladen. Het hielp me om te gaan met de druk van muziek maken en om volwassen te worden als persoon."
