The Blacksmith Cabernet is opgedragen aan Langmeil-oprichter Christian Auricht. De smid (Blacksmith) Auricht verhuisde in 1842 met zijn vrouw en vier kinderen van Pruisen naar Australië. Daar vestigde hij zich in het nieuwe dorp Langmeil, stichtte een smederij in de bloeiende handelspost en ontwikkelde een gemengd bedrijf dat onder andere ook de eerste wijnstokken verbouwde. De oorspronkelijke smidse van Christian Auricht is nog steeds bewaard gebleven en maakt deel uit van het culturele erfgoed van de wijnmakerij. Deze krachtige rode wijn uit Australië is gemaakt van de Cabernet Sauvignon druivensoort. De Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley wordt duidelijk bepaald door Barossa's klimatologische en stilistische factoren. Deze Australiër kan in de beste zin van het woord worden omschreven als wijn van de Nieuwe Wereld, wat uitzonderlijk indrukwekkend is. Als ze perfect rijp zijn, worden de druiven voor de Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley alleen met de hand geoogst zonder de hulp van grove en minder selectieve oogstmachines. Na de oogst gaan de druiven rechtstreeks naar de wijnmakerij. Hier worden de druiven gesorteerd en zorgvuldig geperst. Daarna volgt de fermentatie bij gecontroleerde temperaturen. De fermentatie wordt gevolgd door een rijping van 24 maanden in Franse eiken vaten waarvan twintig procent nieuw is.De verleidelijke aroma’s van deze Blacksmith
Het selectieproces en de methode van wijn maken zorgen dat deze wijn nu gedronken kan worden maar zich ook goed ontwikkeld op de fles. De neus van deze rode wijn uit Zuid-Australië verleidt met nuances van zwarte kers, zwarte bes, moerbei en pruim. Deze fluweelzachte en dichte rode wijn is krachtig en veelzijdig in de mond. Dankzij de vitale fruitzuurgraad is de Blacksmith Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley heerlijk fris en levendig in de mond met een lange afdronk.Shipping Notes

Not comparable to the bars

I often get the chicken Sriracha bars, so I thought this is a more economical way to get that bit of protein. However, these are extremely different than the bars. They are thinner, obviously, and that makes the whole bar drier and... I'm not sure how to describe it, it almost tastes like plastic. Overall, I'll get the bars any day, but these I really can't stomach. On the spiciness side, I think they're pretty balanced. My husband, who doesn't tolerate heat well, likes them, so I'd say they're mild spice. But I personally cannot get over the plastic flavor.

For the chicken go with the bars, not the strips.

I really enjoyed the larger Sriracha bars, as they were an excellent combo of spicy, salty, and juicy. Bought these strips under the assumption they'd be the same. Not even close. No detectable salt, only the barest hint of spice (you can sort-of get the spice back if you eat a large chunk and chew it for around a minute), and the flavor when you first stick it in your mouth is dry and interrupted by a weird plastic-like taste for the first ten seconds or so.
Since it's food I can't return them. At $40 it's an expensive lesson learned. Go with the bars, not the strips.
