De houtsoort Marabu die groeit in Cuba wordt hier gezien als een soort onkruid. De boom vermenigvuldigt zich snel en laat inheemse gewassen verdwijnen waardoor het kappen van deze boom noodzakelijk is om inheemse planten en bomen de ruimte te geven zich te ontwikkelen. De Marabu kenmerkt zich door grote stekels. Voor Cuba zal de Marabu dan ook een belangrijke inkomstenbron gaan vormen de komende jaren. Tevens wordt deze boom ook gebruikt voor biomassaverbranding.

Calorische waarde
Houtskool van de houtsoort marabu heeft een calorische waarde van 7000 Kca/kg. Het product ziet er totaal anders uit dan andere houtskoolsoorten doordat de marabu een soort struik is. De vorm van de houtskool zal dus lang zijn en rond. (stokvormig)

Vochtgehalte
Black Ranch marabu bevat ongeveer 6,7 % vocht en zal dus ontbranden met zeer weinig rook.

As
In vergelijk met Black Ranch quebracho zal er iets meer as ontstaan doordat het productieproces in Cuba nog niet zo geavanceerd is als in Zuid Amerika. Het asgehalte is na verbranding ca. 6%.

Gebruik
Wij adviseren Black Ranch Marabu voor alle grillapparaten maar vooral voor gebruik in de kamado ofin een open grill is dit een uitermate goed product doordat er een lange brandtijd is en een zeerneutrale geur en smaak.

Doordat het product bijna niet spettert zorgt dit voor aangename gebruikerservaringen. Black Ranch Marabu is ook geschikt voor de kleinere barbecues door de kleinere sortering van houtskool.

This is the second Michael Kors bag in my collection, and I’m pleased with both of them. These are quality items that are timeless and complement pretty much everything that i own.
