Dit Duitse Huis was de hoofdvestiging van de Duitse Orde in de Noordelijke Nederlanden. Net als bijvoorbeeld de Orde van de Tempeliers en de Johannieterorde was deze orde actief betrokken bij de kruistochten. Vooral na de val van het laatste

Dit Duitse Huis was de hoofdvestiging van de Duitse Orde in de Noordelijke Nederlanden. Net als bijvoorbeeld de Orde van de Tempeliers en de Johannieterorde was deze orde actief betrokken bij de kruistochten. Vooral na de val van het laatste kruisvaardersbolwerk in het Midden-Oosten in 1291, vochten de ridders van de Duitse Orde tevens in het Oostzeegebied, alwaar een heuse ordestaat ontstond. Het zijn de militaire activiteiten die dergelijke geestelijke ridderorden bekend hebben gemaakt en die ook in het historisch onderzoek de meeste aandacht hebben gekregen. Minder bekend zijn echter de vestigingen in de herkomstgebieden van de broeders, alwaar ridders en priesters gezamenlijk een religieus leven leidden in nederzettingen zoals het Duitse Huis. Daar beheerden ze het lokale goederenbezit van de Duitse Orde, waarmee de eigen leefgemeenschap kon worden bekostigd en een bijdrage kon worden geleverd aan de activiteiten van de orde elders. In dit boek wordt inzichtelijk gemaakt hoe de goederenverwerving van het Duitse Huis gedurende de middeleeuwen tot stand kwam. Veel aandacht gaat bijvoorbeeld uit naar de beweegredenen van schenkers. Voor het onderzoek is rijkelijk geput uit een gevarieerde schat aan bronnen, zoals oorkonden, pachtregisters en landkaarten. Kruistochten, devotie, politiek en patronage, leiderschapskwaliteiten en economische omstandigheden komen naar voren als de factoren die de ontwikkeling van de goederenverwerving in verschillende vormen hebben bepaald.Shipping Notes

Comfortable fit, but the pattern looks a bit dated

I grabbed this in an XXL looking for a comfortable, breezy shirt for the summer. The actual fit and feel of the shirt are really nice. It's a true relaxed fit that doesn't pull tight across the chest or stomach, and the knit material is surprisingly soft and breathable, kind of like a lightweight summer sweater. It definitely doesn't feel like stiff, cheap cotton. My main issue is just the design itself. I ordered the dark green stripe, and in person, the pattern just looks a bit dated, almost like a retro bowling shirt or old upholstery rather than a modern vacation button-down. I'm not the biggest fan of how the stripes look on me, so it has basically become a shirt I just wear lounging around the house instead of actually wearing it out anywhere nice.

This feels super soft and airy. Even though it’s made of 100% cotton, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. I love the contrast between the dark blue and white. The fit is slightly boxy, and it doesn’t wrinkle whatsoever. It’s absolutely worth the price. I can’t get over how good-quality, versatile, lightweight, and soft this shirt is. I highly recommend it as a fun layering piece or a stand‑out top.

It is ideal for warm weather or casual nights out because of its relaxed fit, which is comfortable without appearing overly baggy, and the soft, light knit material. The button-down style preserves the relaxed vacation vibe while giving it a polished, clean appearance. It looks great with both jeans and shorts.
The fabric's ability to breathe throughout the day was one of my favorite things. The short sleeves make it perfect for everyday casual wear, cookouts, and vacations. It is comfortable enough to wear for hours without feeling heavy or stiff. For the price range, the buttons and stitching appear to be well-made as well. Without exerting too much effort, the shirt's fashionable appearance draws praise.
The fit can run a little larger depending on your typical size choice, which is the only reason I am not giving it a perfect five stars. Not my cup of tea.

The sweater seemed to be well made and fit me well. The color and style were nice and it's a comfortable material, but it's just not my style. The weave is so very open, it feels like I'm wearing an afghan from the back of the sofa. That kind of defeats the purpose of a sweater for me.
