Wat is een patch panel?

Met een patch panel is het erg makkelijk om uw netwerk te organiseren. Een patch panel is zeker niet alleen voor uitgebreide netwerken zoals op bijvoorbeeld een kantoor, ook thuis heeft een patch panel een toegevoegde waarde. Bij eventueel defect kunt u gemakkelijk uw patch kabel vervangen, veel goedkoper dan uw hele netwerk op zijn kop zetten! U kunt uw patch panel nummeren, zodat u precies weet waar de kabel voor is of naartoe gaat.

Als u een kabel wil installeren op de LSA stroken op uw patch panel, moet u erop letten dat u een kabel met stugge kern gebruikt. Kabels met een soepele kern zijn hiervoor niet geschikt en zullen dan ook niet werken. Aan de voorkant van het patch panel kunt u natuurlijk wel soepele patch-kabels gebruiken, zolang u maar een stugge kabel gebruikt voor de installatie op de LSA stroken. Na installatie aan de ‘achterkant’ van het patch panel heeft u de poort aan de voorkant voorzien van een internetverbinding.

Een desktop patchpanel kunt u gemakkelijk op bijvoorbeeld uw bureau monteren, waar de 19’’ patch panels in een 19’’ wand- of serverkast gemonteerd dienen te worden. 10’’ patch panels kunnen alleen gemonteerd worden in 10’’ wandkasten.
