Douglas hout is van nature goed bestand tegen vocht en vergrijst na verloop van tijd. Voor extra bescherming en een langere levensduur kan de paal behandeld worden met een beits of olie.

Ideaal voor overkappingen, schuttingen, pergola’s en andere constructies waar een stevige fundering vereist is.

Verwerking en montage

Voor een stevige montage wordt het gebruik van RVS schroeven of houtverbindingen aanbevolen om verkleuring te voorkomen. Schroefgaten dienen te worden voorgeboord om splijten te voorkomen. Hout werkt onder invloed van temperatuur en vocht, waardoor lichte krimp of uitzetting mogelijk is.
