Novocontact-bitten zijn ontworpen om een unieke ovale vorm te creëren die het contactoppervlak op de tong vergroot, terwijl de ruiter een constant contact behoudt.
Alleen wanneer de ruiter een versterkte teugelhulp geeft, draait het mondstuk naar voren en wordt het contactoppervlak smaller, wat zorgt voor een preciezere en effectievere communicatie. Zo verbeteren novocontact-bitten de interactie tussen paard en ruiter voor een beter contact en acceptatie van het bit.

Dankzij de moderne novocontact-geometrie is dit dubbelgelede model een goede keuze voor paarden die af en toe krachtig reageren, maar te gevoelig zijn voor bitten met meer impact. Deze paarden reageerden ook positief op het bit tijdens praktijktests. Het past ergonomisch in de mond van het paard, heeft een groot contactoppervlak met de tong en zorgt zo voor een zachte maar duidelijke impact.

Deze pelham zorgt voor een precieze en effectieve overdracht van de hulpkracht naar de gehele tong, nek en onderkaak. Afhankelijk van de bevestiging kan de hefboomwerking op de nek individueel worden aangepast.

De pelham wordt vaak gebruikt met bitconverters. Als ruiter en paard al meer getraind zijn, is het raadzaam om twee paar teugels te gebruiken: dan kan de hefboomwerking het meest gevoelig worden toegepast. Het bit wordt gebruikt met een kinriem die een hoek van 45° tussen schacht en mond mogelijk maakt om de druk op de nek te beperken.
