De druiven met de hand geoogst en na de vergisting ondergaat de wijn nog eens een 12 maanden rijping op eikenhouten vaten in de kelders van Guigal. De geur is explosief met veel abrikozen, perziken, vanille, hout tonen en wat lichte kruiden. Wie deze wijn goed kan opnamen ruikt zelfs witte bloemen, geel room en zoethout. In de smaak is deze Guigal La Doriane Condrieu zeer krachtig en complex, diep gaande smaken van geel fruit zoals abrikoos en perzik. En achter op de tong begint het feest, iets van gebrande noten, vanille stokje, ceder hout, iets gebrands en verfijnde mineralen. De wijn past goed bij vette visgerechten, schaal- en schelpdieren en gevogelte.
