De Ligustrum Chinensis is een zeer sterke soort, bladhoudend met mooi lichtgroen blad. Hoogte incl. pot ~ 40 cm, wordt incl. onderschaal geleverd. Deze bonsai is naar schatting ongeveer 7 jaar oud.

De geleverde boom kan iets van de foto afwijken. Afmeting, soort en model zullen hetzelfde zijn. 

Ligusters houden van een lichte standplaats met direct zonlicht voor minstens een deel van de dag. Hoewel de meeste liguster soorten buiten moeten gehouden worden en enkel een beetje bescherming nodig hebben tegen sterke vorst, wordt de Chinese liguster (de boom die u hier bekijkt) binnen geplaatst tijdens de winter. Bomen uit (Sub) tropische gebieden zijn gewend aan een min of meer constante jaartemperatuur. In tegenstelling tot bomen uit ons klimaat hebben zij geen rustperiode nodig met een temperatuurdaling en bladval. Hierdoor zijn deze soorten prima geschikt om binnen in huis gehouden te worden. In de zomer periode, bij temperaturen boven de 15 graden Celsius, kunnen ze ook goed buiten op bijvoorbeeld het terras. Over het algemeen zullen ze in de zomer buiten door de betere klimaatomstandigheden (luchtvochtigheid, licht en frisse lucht) beter gedijen. Tijdens hete dagen heeft de liguster veel water nodig en moet dan grondig bewaterd worden zodra de grond droog wordt. In de winter minder water geven maar let op dat de wortelkluit niet helemaal uitdroogt.
