Deze vintage Massive bureaulamp uit de jaren 90 combineert een ronde metalen voet met lichte houten details en een matte glazen kap. De gebogen metalen arm geeft de lamp een herkenbare, functionele vorm, terwijl het matte glas zorgt voor zacht en prettig licht.

Mooi op een bureau, nachtkastje of sidetable. Door de combinatie van zilverkleurig metaal, naturel hout en wit glas voelt de lamp licht en rustig aan, maar heeft hij tegelijk genoeg karakter. Een fijne pre-loved lamp voor een werkplek, leeshoek of slaapkamer.

De lamp is in zeer goede pre-loved staat. Op het houten deel zijn enkele kleine vlekjes zichtbaar, passend bij leeftijd en gebruik. Deze doen niets af aan de uitstraling en geven de lamp het karakter dat hoort bij een zorgvuldig gekozen pre-loved item.

Can I be a heretic in this world?

This world is fun. This world is interesting. This world would be fascinating to visit. And that also holds true with the characters. Fischer is interesting even as a semi-broken former elite businessman who threw it all away just before getting hit by a truck and thrown into the world. The humble and not-so-humble villagers he meets are perfect foils for him. They never felt like they were nothing but tropes. Yes, Roger's wife is sick and he's grumpy and unwelcoming, but there were depths to it. We learn over time who he is as a husband, father and farmer. All of the other human characters have some backstory even if we don't see it on the pages. Its still clearly reflected in their decisions and actions. And the animal friends of Fischer that slowly gain power and intelligence due to his actions are wonderful. This is a story that was carefully and lovingly crafted and is definitely one of my favorites for the year to date.

He cares about others, treats them with respect and does not expect that they conform to his world. I love the dopey way he makes his way through life, seemingly unaware of what is going on around him, but trusting his friends to, well, be his friends. We end with a few loose ends, but that happens in a serialization, right? Lots of anime and pop-culture references for the reader to enjoy, along with some deep philosophical moments. Fischer is a deep well. Enjoy the book! Looking forward to book two! Cheers!

In trying to avoid his previous life in another world, he keeps things light and tries to help thew locals who live in a culture and a political system he doesn't understand. His entire goal is to fish as much as possible in a place where everything related to the ocean is hearsay. I just keep reading. The mystery is what exactly makes this book so addictive. I've read the second and the third is waiting for me. I read on.
