Het bijzondere aan deze verlichte ring is dat hij geen batterijen nodig heeft, die voortdurend vervangen moeten worden en meestal niet erg goedkoop zijn. De Flash lichtring USB heeft een oplaadbare batterij die eenvoudig kan worden opgeladen met de meegeleverde USB-kabel (bijvoorbeeld op een computer). De lichtbuis is spatwaterdicht en kan worden ingesteld op knipperend of continu licht. Eén acculading is voldoende voor ongeveer 5 uur continu licht of 8 uur knipperend licht.

Een individuele maataanpassing is mogelijk door eenvoudig op maat te knippen.
