Ruben Hein zet in op natuurbehoud met bijzonder nieuw project en tournee ‘OCEANS’. Met het project verzoent hij zijn twee grootste liefdes: muziek en natuur.

Begin 2020, vlak voordat de pandemie uitbreekt, bevindt Ruben zich op een boot in de Zuidpool, omgeven door eindeloze zeespiegels, pinguïnkoloniën, walvissen en verlaten nederzettingen. Tijdens deze Artist In Residency legt hij in een ministudio in zijn cabine op het schip de eerste ideeën vast voor zijn nieuwe project.

De ‘OCEANS’ LP zal worden uitgebracht in een bedrukte buitenhoes van plantbaar bloemetjespapier, een extra geste voor de natuur en de luisteraar om eigen tuin of balkon op te fleuren met bijen aantrekkende bloemen. Met dit project laat Ruben zien dat we samen, zowel met grote als kleine gebaren, bewust kunnen worden van de noodzaak van natuurbehoud en er zeker ook actief aan kunnen bijdragen.

I wish I could accurately describe what it smells like— it’s just not good and for some reason, body heat only exacerbates it and makes the smell even worse and I wake up feeling like a smell like the sheets… which isn’t a good thing. Besides that, I do really enjoy them. They feel great on your skin and I love the color. I wish the smell didn’t kill them so badly for me ☹️
