Deze kopshouten (end grain) snijplank met chaotisch patroon is een werkelijk bijzonder stuk. De snijplank is gemaakt van zes soorten hout: Europees kersen, Amerikaans esdoorn, Amerikaans noten, Zuid-Amerikaans purperhart, padoek en wengé, beide afkomstig uit de zuidkust van Kameroen. Het noten en wengé is donker gekleurd, het kersen en esdoorn is licht gekleurd, het purperhart is vol paars gekleurd en het padoek is vurig donkerrood. Een erg mooie combinatie van houtsoorten, die de snijplank een uniek kleurpalet geeft.

De snijplank is aan beide zijden uitgevoerd met ingefreesde handvatten zodat deze, ondanks zijn aanzienlijke gewicht, makkelijk op te pakken is. Daarnaast is de snijplank uitgevoerd zonder pootjes, zodat deze aan beide kanten gebruikt kan worden. Verder zijn alle randen van de snijplank fijn afgerond.

Het vervaardigen van een kopshouten (end grain) snijplank met chaotisch patroon vergt veel werk: de verschillende houtsoorten moeten meermaals verzaagd en verlijmd worden om uiteindelijk tot het bijzondere patroon te komen. Vanwege de hoge materiaalkosten van de zes verschillende soorten hout en het arbeidsintensieve proces (ruim 30 uur per plank) is deze snijplank niet goedkoop, maar door de tijd, zorg en aandacht die erin is gegaan is het wel een werkelijk uniek en zeldzaam pronkstok. Dit betreft een eenmalige productie van deze uitvoering van twee snijplanken; deze producten zullen niet herhaald worden en staan op zichzelf als unieke stukken.

Een kopshouten ("end grain") snijplank oogt niet alleen bijzonder, maar is ook duurzaam, hygiënisch en goed voor je keukenmes. De vezels van de plank openen en sluiten zich om het mes heen, waardoor het mes minder snel bot wordt, de plank een lange levensduur heeft en bacteriën minder kans krijgen om te groeien.

De snijplank is verlijmd met een voedselveilige houtlijm en is afgewerkt met een combinatie van voedselveilige minerale olie, natuurlijke bijenwas en Braziliaanse carnaubawas. Deze afwerking beschermt het hout goed tegen vocht en uitdroging.

Om te zorgen dat de snijplank zo lang mogelijk meegaat is het van belang de plank goed te onderhouden, lees daarover hier meer. Doe de snijplank nooit in de vaatwasser.

De snijplank wordt geleverd met een fles met een mix van minerale olie, bijenwas en carnaubawas voor periodiek onderhoud en een antislipmat zodat de plank stabiel op het aanrecht ligt zonder te verschuiven bij gebruik.

De afmetingen van de snijplank zijn: 41,8 centimeter breed, 41 centimeter diep en 5,4 centimeter hoog.

Built-in USB-C solves the power issue, but it is strictly for moderate chewers

Got this to keep the high-energy puppy occupied indoors so the older dogs can actually get some peace and quiet. The main issue with most automated electronic pet toys is that they rely on expensive, hard-to-find button cell batteries that die after a single afternoon of use. This unit utilizes a built-in 300mAh battery with a standard Type-C charging interface. That is a mandatory design feature if you actually want to run the toy daily without going broke replacing power cells. The internal motor generates enough erratic movement to keep a dog's attention, and it actually has the torque to navigate over standard tile, hardwood, and light carpets without instantly stalling out in a corner. You need to completely understand the physical limitations of what you are unboxing here. The listing explicitly states this is not for heavy chewers, and you need to take that warning seriously. The outer shell is TPU, but the internal chassis housing the electronics is hard ABS plastic. If you hand this to an 80-pound working dog that aggressively shreds thick bones, they are going to crush the housing and destroy the internal motor assembly in about ten minutes. At roughly 2.5 inches in diameter, it's basically the size of a standard tennis ball. If you use it as intended—as an interactive chasing toy for a puppy or a moderate chewer rather than a heavy-duty chew toy—it functions perfectly. It is a highly practical piece of indoor enrichment gear. Solid return on investment for burning off excess canine energy.

Pawsitively Stimulating🐾

When my hooman brought this home, I thought it was fur their computer. After all, it has a plug and lights up. When they placed it on the floor, I was pawsomely surprised. Fur real, this little ball is wierd. It doesn't taste at all like my favorite tennis ball. I was a pawplexed that sometimes when I was finally brave enough to get it and hold it in my mouth, it would start jumping around. I think my hoomans finally found a toy that will keep me busy for a while. Mom is howling with excitement because it kept me interested for a long time. I hope I can sleep tonight. Freaks my dogs out.

My dogs really don't know what to make of these. They mostly follow it around, staring at it curiously, but semi-afraid to approach it. That, or they'll bark at it. It charges quickly and has multiple modes to engage your pet with. It also locks closed securely ... for the most part. That said, there are some downsides. This toy is mostly made for smaller dogs. I'd say 40 or 50 pounds max. While the plastic shell feels hard and durable, it's not hard enough for a big dog's jaws. My big bulldog mix bore down on this with his teeth, and I hard the plastic starting to snap. It's tough, but not great if your dog is the type who likes to put the pressure on.
