Na bijna honderd jaar verschijnt er weer een handboek Homiletiek als opvolger van de in 1926 verschenen Gereformeerde Homiletiek van dr. T. Hoekstra.

De nieuwe homiletiek kwam tot stand door de samenwerking van drie theologen uit drie verschillende kerken, te weten de redactieleden dr. A. Baars (CGK) en dr. J. Hoek (PKN, GB) en eindredacteur dr. R. van Kooten (HHK). We hebben dit werk in hartelijke verbondenheid en grote eensgezindheid mogen verrichten.

Prediking is geen uitvinding van ons mensen. God Zelf is de sprekende God en Christus zond Zijn apostelen uit om te prediken. De apostelen geven in hun geschriften diverse normatieve aanwijzingen voor de prediking. De titel van de driedelige serie Handboek Apostolische Homiletiek geeft aan dat de prediking geijkt dient te worden aan het onderwijs en de prediking van de apostelen.

Er verschijnen drie delen:
Band I: Bezinnend deel, dr. R. van Kooten, juni 2023
Band II: Praktisch deel, dr. R. van Kooten, dr. J. Hoek e.a. ,najaar 2023
Band III: Historisch deel, dr. A. Baars, voorjaar 2024

De prediking is geen uitvinding van ons mensen. God Zelf is de sprekende God en Christus zond Zijn apostelen uit om te prediken. De apostelen geven in hun geschriften diverse normatieve aanwijzingen voor de prediking.

De titel van de driedelige serie 'Handboek Apostolische Homiletiek' geeft aan dat de prediking geijkt dient te worden aan het onderwijs en de prediking van de apostelen. Deze tweede band is het praktische deel. Achtereenvolgens komen aan de orde: de praktijk van de preekvoorbereiding, de veelkleurigheid van de prediking over de verschillende genres in de Schrift, alsook gedurende de gang van het kerkelijk jaar en bij bijzondere gelegenheden.

Voorts: de huidige stand van zaken in het homiletische veld, de hoorder en de retorica, prediking en psychologie, het gebruik van Bijbelsoftware bij de preekvoorbereiding en het gebruik van de stem door de voorganger.

Rob's book was very useful to me, both in helping me gain better skills in underwriting basics (stabilization time period and how unit renovations and rent bumps are modeled/phased-in as well as when to start applying rent escalator) as well as higher level topics, like partnership structures, sensitivity analyses, and judging the returns. In all of these higher level topics I learned several new topics (and calculations to add to my underwriting) and would guess that even experienced investors would pick up a few quality nuggets in these sections.
