Uit de Frida-serie: een indrukwekkende Bill Board-portretcollectie van Frida Kahlo op groot formaat canvas. De serie werd voor het eerst gepresenteerd tijdens de groepstentoonstelling Retro Fantastic in 2019 in het Dutch Design Hotel Artemis, Amsterdam.

Centraal staat een iconisch portret van Frida Kahlo, dat zowel trots als kwetsbaarheid uitstraalt. Hoewel de compositie in elk werk identiek is, krijgt elk stuk zijn eigen karakter door unieke kleurkeuzes en afwerkingen.

Geïnspireerd door Andy Warhol’s portretreeksen, zijn deze werken niet met zeefdruk gemaakt, maar met bijzondere transferechnieken. De afbeelding wordt gespiegeld, uitvergroot, geprint en op canvas overgebracht, waarna olieverf en pastelkrijt het geheel afmaken.

Ruwe lijnen, gescheurde randen en overlappende lagen geven de doeken een verweerde vintage billboard-uitstraling. Het spel van kleuren en texturen benadrukt de balans tussen kracht en fragiliteit, als eerbetoon aan Frida Kahlo’s onverwoestbare geest in een hedendaagse, artistieke vertaling.

Very Thin but NICE
This polo shirt is much thinner than expected. While the blue color is vibrant, it’s best worn with a layer underneath, such as a mock turtleneck. I recommend ordering a size up, as the viscose fabric tends to shrink more than cotton. For care, hand wash or place it in a mesh laundry bag and use a gentle cycle. Despite these considerations, the shirt is attractive and practical when properly cared for, and I may purchase another in a different color.

You'll see in the picture that it easily falls below my waist. In addition, I've washed and dried the shirt multiple times and it's held up well. I love the fact that the shirt is a pullover with a zipper instead of buttons. This shirt will definitely be in my rotation for those cool Fall days and all of Winter.

Truly a SLIM fit
This is DEFINITELY a slim fit. It is true to size but expect it to be fitted pretty tightly on your arms and chest. The material is some kind of stretchy woven knit but thin so good for wearing out and not sweating but because of the slim fit, the tighter arms, I would never risk a golf swing in this for fear of hulking out of the seams. The color is a very nice light blue, true to the pictures and the style is great for someone ok with showing off their body. Overall, a good fall shirt for an affordable price.
