Finamore werd in 1925 opgericht in Napels en behoort tot de weinige hemdmakers die het Napolitaanse maakprincipe in zijn volledigheid in stand houden. Dat principe heeft een naam: de Camicia Napoletana. Het gaat niet om het model of de stof maar om de manier waarop het hemd is samengesteld, met de hand, door gespecialiseerde naaisters die elk afzonderlijk onderdeel met de naald verwerken in plaats van met de machine.

De Napoli-lijn is het klassiekste model van het huis. De stof is een denim chambray van katoen, lichter en zachter dan standaard denim, met een zichtbare diagonale weefstructuur die het oppervlak een subtiele textuur geeft. De kleur is een gedempte indigoblauw die de stof zijn middelpositie tussen formeel overhemd en casual denim geeft. De constructie volgt zeven handgemaaide stappen: het vastzetten van de kraag, de knoopbevestiging met de kenmerkende leliestikseling, de handgemaakte knoopsgaten, het innaaien van de mouwen, het vastzetten van de schoudernaad en het aanbrengen van de mouche met het Finamore-initiaal. Het meest herkenbare Napolitaanse detail is de arriccio op de mouw: een kleine handgemaakte plooiing aan het okselstuk die de mouwkop soepel houdt en volledige bewegingsvrijheid geeft. This is the second Michael Kors bag in my collection, and I’m pleased with both of them. These are quality items that are timeless and complement pretty much everything that i own.
