In 1985 besloten de vrienden Tim Murphy, Dale Goode en Dave Ready de handen ineen te slaan en zo werd Murphy Goode opgericht. Het wijngoed is gevestigd in de Alexander Valley in de noordelijke Sanoma County. Vandaag de dag is het onderdeel van de Jackson Family Wines Collection. In de Verenigde Staten staat het wijnhuis bekend om zijn rechtlijnige, vaak bekroonde wijnen en om zijn nonchalante, pretentieloze stijl. Het wijnbedrijf wordt nog steeds door dezelfde familie gerund. De organisatie is in handen van de drie zonen van Tim Murphy, Dave Ready’s zonen zijn verantwoordelijk voor de wijnbereiding. De wijngaarden liggen dicht aan de overs van de Russische rivier. Californië is de belangrijkste staat en is verantwoordelijk voor ongeveer negentig procent van de wijnproductie in Amerika. Door het warme klimaat en veel zonuren kunnen de druiven goed rijpen en worden er mooie krachtige wijnen geproduceerd die vol met aroma’s zitten. Zo is ook deze Cabernet Sauvignon het bewijs dat een warm klimaat van grote invloed is op de rijkdom van de wijn. De wijnmaker streeft hierbij naar finesse en complexiteit. In de geur vertaalt dit zich met indrukken van zwarte kersen, een vleugje drop, chocolade en iets van toast. Door de houtlagering wordt de smaak voller en krachtiger, veel mooie nuances van kersen, bramen en bosbossen. Achter op de tong vindt men nog meer bijzondere smaken zoals cacao, peper, gebrand eiken en iets van amandelen.Shipping Notes

As good As It Get

I read the second book in this cottage series about smart town/village life in the Cotswolds before this first one. Both are so very very good and touching. Can't wait to read the third one in this series. These sapphic HEA romances are as good as it gets.

Sweet, Escapist, and Good Characters

I enjoyed the setting of this book. I love a book with a good sense of place. The chemistry between the characters was good and built through the story, I thought the book could have benefited from heavier editing. I appreciated the good dialogue, but it seemed unnecessarily copious at times, putting a drag on the forward motion of the story. Worth my time - absolutely.

Bravo!

"For two people who love words, we f***ing suck at communication." These words, uttered near the end of the book, really describe the relationship between Josie and Harriett (Harry). They have both built their careers on the crafting of words, but when it comes to them communicating with each other, there are many misunderstandings, foot-in-mouth moments, and missed opportunities to say how they feel. That, along with each one's hesitation to make the first move, causes the sexual tension to build and build, so when they finally do get together... well, you don't want to miss that!
The contrast of Josie, the American, and Harry, the Brit, is fun. The story is heart-warming. The banter is enjoyable and doesn't seem like it's just filling space in the book. The supporting characters are colorful and have depth. I really enjoyed it, so I say, "Bravo, TB Markinson! A standing ovation from me!"

Great series!

I absolutely loved this entire series. All of the stories were lovely & very "real". I have read several books by all of these authors but none have been quite like these three. There was an extra sentiment of sunny & joy in these books. I don't know if it was the setting (the Cotwolds are such a delight) or they were all just "in the zone" but it was a delightful experience. Highly recommend!!
