Hommage 2019 is de meer gelaagde en serieuzere cuvée van het domein, met extra diepte en rijpingspotentieel. In de neus donkere kers, braam en pruim, aangevuld met ceder, koffie, zoethout en warme specerijen. In de mond is de wijn vol en gestructureerd, met rijpe tannines, een kern van donker fruit en een kruidige, licht rokerige ondertoon. De afdronk is lang, harmonieus en complex, met een mooie balans tussen kracht en finesse.

Vinificatie.
De druiven worden met de hand geoogst en streng geselecteerd. De vergisting gebeurt temperatuurgecontroleerd, gevolgd door een langere maceratie voor extra structuur en aromatische diepgang. De wijn rijpt vervolgens ongeveer 16 tot 20 maanden in een combinatie van grotere houten vaten en (deels) eikenhouten vaten, gevolgd door flesrijping zodat het geheel mooi afrondt en integreert.

Het domein.
Domaine Coudoulis maakt Lirac-wijnen met een duidelijke terroirsignatuur: rijp fruit, garrigue en structuur, maar met aandacht voor frisheid en balans. Het domein werkt milieubewust, met veel manueel werk in de wijngaarden, streven naar gezonde bodems en het beperken van interventies. Dankzij die aanpak behouden de wijnen hun zuiverheid en ontwikkelen ze opvallend mooi met flesrijping.

I have the dark green sheets and bought these for extra cases to match. I would give them 5 stars if it weren’t for the fact that they smell absolutely horrible. I wish I could accurately describe what it smells like— it’s just not good and for some reason, body heat only exacerbates it and makes the smell even worse and I wake up feeling like a smell like the sheets… which isn’t a good thing. Besides that, I do really enjoy them. They feel great on your skin and I love the color. I wish the smell didn’t kill them so badly for me ☹️
